Wenger
[article]“They have made some interesting signings. They came out of the season thinking they have to rebuild their midfield, and they did it by buying two important players - Schweinsteiger and Schneiderlin. They are two top-class players.

“One who is now coming up to the top level in Schneiderlin, and one who has done it all. It will be interesting to see how they mix with the other players.”

Wenger also offered up some views on Raheem Sterling's £49m move to Manchester City, as he insisted he was never interested in signing the Liverpool youngster.

"It looked a done deal for a while because Sterling said he wanted to leave,” Wenger continued. “For me Sterling is a top-class player. It’s a good buy for Man City. An expensive one, but they can afford it.

“Personally I like him. I didn’t make a bid because he plays in an area where we have plenty of players. We have Welbeck, Walcott, Chamberlain, Sanchez, Wilshere can play there, Gnabry. He’s a wide player basically, or behind the striker.”[/article]

@football_oranje: In one year with Manchester United, Louis van Gaal has spent more than Ajax have in their whole history. (great stat from @sportzeloot )

I expect that figure will be closer to £500m by the time this summer is over

Otamendi for 35M seems to be next on their Summer sending spree .... with a striker to come after that no doubt. That could be a title challenging side, I hope Di Maria goes to PSG.

Di Maria will move to PSG. Utd wants Cavani.
Lets hope people on here are right and that he's shite. I dont think he is and he'll be a quality signing for them if it goes through.

Cavani's an odd one. He seems to have completely lost motivation at PSG and he's looked pretty tame over the last couple of years. Was a terrific player though.

Wages are quoted at ca. £135k. Not astronomical at all. That 20M Euros .... about £13.5M

@TransferSources: Bastian Schweinsteiger will earn £13m-a-season at Manchester United and become the highest-paid midfielder in the PL.

250k a week if true...

Di Maria is supposed to be on £280,000 and Rooney £300,000. If those are correct it doesn't seem that far fetched.

Valdes dropped for their pre season tour. Don't know what's going on there. With lloris broken too, and begovic gone, they'll have to come up with something inventive or let teenwolf leave on a free next summer

I think free next summer might be the most likely outcome.
Looks like they aren't going to let Ramos go and we are linking the two.

Who knows may up in the shit with De Gea and Valdes gone, no Ramos and limited GK options.

Ramos was never going to happen, you'd have to be deluded to ever think it was. They do this every time to get a new improved contract.
As for your keeper options, the other option is that he does a Suarez, signs a new improved contract and agrees to stay next season aslong as there's a reasonable release clause in there for Madrid next summer.

I presume the United interest is real. Whether or not Ramos is using it as a bargaining tool to get an improved contract is the question.

I'd love Utd to splurge massive money on Ramos and Cavani. 80m quid or so down the Swanee.
