I think March is an easy month with FA cup ties and we will lose players to an international break too. We have something like 1 league game, 1 final and 2 champions league games.Agreed. He simply can't perform at his best level if he keeps starting every single game. For me we need to give him one game off (on the bench) and then he'll be fully primed for City & Newcastle.
We also need to be using Endo & McConnell as subs more & more too. The '2 games off' benefit from the CL has disappeared by having 2 PL games rescheduled into these gaps. At some point later in the season I'm sure we will get a week off but that doesn't really help us at this stage.
Or we could rest him against Southampton and get him to pull out of the international fixtures.I realise the irony in my post above and having Gravy in my Starting XI in the pre match thread. I'm not sure how we find the space to manage his minutes - maybe its through more routing 60 min appearances. But Gravy playing well makes the whole team play well and we need to suck it up and sacrifice that somewhere. Maybe its in the CL and we give him one of those RO16 fixtures off

We just need to work out a way to maximise our points going into March.

True - but we also need to maximise his (and Macca's) chances of making it to the Saints game without overloading a muscle and then being out for 6 weeks. They're both probably close to red lining.
