"At the end of the evening, I arranged to pick him up the next morning, and we would head out.

"I'll pick you up at 11' I said. Trent said 'sound.' So I pulled up outside his villa at 11am, I thought he might be waiting, but it was quiet.

"I waited for a bit and then he came out, he was looking a bit sheepish. 'Come on' I said, 'get in.'

"'Erm' he said quietly, 'I can't come.' 'You what?' My face dropped. 'What do you mean you can't come?'

"I can't come,' he said again. 'I can't come because my mum says I'm not allowed.'

Supporters are so fickle it's unbelievable. A few weeks ago Bradders was being written off for not 'pushing on' from last year after a handful of minutes and then after a few games finding his feet he's MOM against Madrid in a barnstorming game. We all know younger players are slightly less consistent and we all know that it is hard coming into a makeshift defence, even for a more experienced player. Quansah is only getting minutes either out of position or in such makeshift scenarios. I actually thought he had a largely good game yesterday. He's going to be a terrific player for us.

Maybe. I also have high hopes for him but he is young and many external (and sometimes internal) influences could derail him. There's no definitive either way here.
