What would you have said if we were signing him?
That he's the bestest player in the World obviously. Ronaldo? Messi? Pffff! Not even close to him.

The reality is, it's a very calculated gamble.
It's potentially an absolute steal.
If he was avaliable to us on this deal, we'd have been foolish to turn it down.
Obviously I hope he gets the bad aids now, but it's still a risk worth taking and there's no point on trying to paint it any other way
What has it got to do with then? He's a club legend alright, why wouldn't they want him to stay. Reading between the lines there they aren't reliant on him and he's not going to get as many games as he might want.
There has to be some sort of decline in performance or fitness because the old schweinsteiger was one of the best.

Think Gerrard. Most clubs tend to be very respectful to their 'legends' and letting them go for free, or not asking for an exorbitant fee, is part and parcel of that.
Age and his injury record I guess, rather than a decline in his performances - that doesn't seem to be substantiated by his scoring/assists/performances. Possibly akin in some ways to Sturridge who isn't in decline per se but whose injuries make him a real concern. A club like Bayern will have no problems finding a class replacement so can afford to pay him due respect.I totally understand that in many cases loyal servants get to leave for reasonable fees, but you said you think it has nothing to do with a 'perceived decline' in the player. So I was asking why this situation has reached the point where a club legend is actually leaving if there is no decline?
He has missed 50 games in 2 seasons, there's a definite decline, they don't need him any more and I doubt he wants a struggle to reach the first 11 at his age. If he was the same player he was 5 years ago this wouldn't be happening, that was my point.
I just saw that. Not good at all.Utd get Schneiderlin aswell.
Cunts. Not good..

Scheiderlin, Schweinsteiger, Herrera is a very very good midfield.
And Carrick.
Will be interesting to see where they fit those 4 very good centre midfielders into their best 11.
And Daley Blind. Not sure if he is a defender or a midfielder?
IMO they still have an issue at CB. I wouldn't want to be pinning my hopes on Smalling and Jones.
Rest of the squad looks ominous though.
Begovic to Chelsea to waste the rest of his career.
No doubt he'll be made up to earn a packet whilst playing 4 cup games all season.
Both. Better in midfield though. And Daley Blind. Not sure if he is a defender or a midfielder?
To be fair to him, he wasn't going to win anything at Stoke either. Doesn't seem like anyone else was in for him, should have moved a couple of years ago.
Well he probably won't play enough matches to get a PL medal if they win it again and he won't be entrusted to big CL matches so that's FAC and LC ..... if you are happy enough with that then so be it. A pay rise and to experience (though not participate in) the CL and other big matches is probably the extent of his ambition, that and praying for Courtios to break a leg !
