Saw that, any good?

Atletico fucked up mind, not Soton. Hence the threat of legal action and compensation.

How did they fuck up?

Was there a purchase clause in the deal, that they bought out to get a deal with Spurs done?

Villa were after Boilesen from Ajax last week for about 1.5 million which is dirt cheap. He's a quality LB when he's fit but he has been desperately unlucky with injuries.

From what I read, yes, there was a purchase clause in the loan contract that allowed Soton to buy him for 6m or so, and a termination clause that Atletico could trigger to cancel the purchase clause, with a small payment to Soton. Apparently, Atletico went ahead to sell the player to Spurs thinking they had already triggered the cancellation.

I don't think Atletico will fret then.

I presume they should do, they've gone against the legal agreement. The agreement said the soton could buy him for x, and to remove this clause, athletico would have to give soton x by y date. And they didn't, so the clause was still in place for soton to buy him at x price, so soton offered this amount. Athletico went and sold him to spurs for twice the clause.
There's talk now that athletico are going to split the money with soton that they've made out of spurs, to dodge going to court.
It's all moot if the player turns down a move to soton though....

Apparently Crystal Palace are signing Cabaye for ~£10million, how on earth has that happened?

On a sidenote, Spurs' new stadium will have a capacity larger than Arsenal's and Chelsea's. Can they fill it constanty?
[article]Spurs’ plans show that the ground will hold 61,000 fans, which will be more than Arsenal, whose Emirates Stadium has a capacity of 60,432, while Chelsea’s proposal to redevelop Stamford Bridge will take it up to 60,000.[/article]

I'd be shocked if they could, although they do seem to have a pretty large fanbase in the south east. £400million?! How on earth can they justify such an expensive stadium, it's bonkers. I wouldn't be surprised if the ego that is Daniel Levy made it a condition of the architects that the capacity had to be higher than Arsenals. In hindsight I'm very glad we've gone down the redevelopment route, we'll get to just shy of 60k for a quarter of the cost.

Oy vey.

On the plus side you live in one of those shitty tenements you can watch the game free.
Those shitty tenements probably cost a couple of hundred grand for a one bed. I keep thinking one day I'll stop being amazed by London house prices, but it never happens.

Marco Van Ginkel is going to Stoke. He was great at Vitesse with Bony but then moved to Chelsea who didn't use him. Was on loan at Milan recently. He's too good for Stoke.

Italian fullback Matteo Darmian coming to the UK for a medical with ManUre. Asked my Serie A sources about him and the consensus seems to be he's decent but nothing too special - definitely a wingback rather than a fullback, better going forward than defending, but can play in more than one position.

And Italy's RB for the past 2 years.

Abate. But yeah, it doesnt say much. I have my doubts about that signing. Feels good.
I thought abate, but he only played 50 times over the last 2 seasons. He's out of form/injured

Then I though De ciglio... Pile of shite and moved to left back

Santon... Pile of shite

There's a reason why Italy are a bit shit now. Only chiellini is left as a good defender! Which is absolutely incredible considering their history with defenders

I was impressed by Darmian whenever i saw him last season. Saying that though the style of play of Torino was vastly different to anything United would like to play. Torino had a decent season but were pragmatic rather than stylish.
