Other Clubs Summer Stuff

It will annoy me if City pay some mad amount for De Bruyne. It will feel like we got bummed on a Sterling deal.

De Bruyne is certainly worth the 9 mill more than Sterling.
Its a ridiculous fee for both transfers.

Seeing as john stones is going for 40 million, it seems we set our sights too low with Sterling.

Pretty pointless comparing transfer fees, especially when the players concerned play in different positions and it involves two entirely different clubs. Each transfer has so many individual variables, you're only talking about ball parks anyway.

£18mill for Son is a decent deal, has massive potential and is a good player. Pity when someone like him goes for less than Markovic

I'd love Spurs to get desperate, try for Austin and get rebuffed by QPR, and then settle for.... Borini for 7m. He's not totally useless - he can score a few goals given enough minutes, and can give Kane a break for the cup games, and I'm sure he and his missus will love to make the move south, especially on the same pay.

Wishful thinking, but hey, Spurs does weird stuff, so who knows.

Tottenham have today been linked with a shock move for Liverpool outcast Fabio Borini. Reports in Italy, cited here by the Liverpool Echo, suggest that Spurs could turn to the 24-year-old if they miss out on Saido Berahino.
It’s hard to believe that Tottenham would be interested in a player like Borini, who scored just one goal in all competitions last season, but the Reds would surely jump at the chance to get a deal done if it were possible.

Borini, who enjoyed relative success during a loan spell with Sunderland during the 2013-14 season, has fallen well down the pecking order of Brendan Rodgers’ side since the summer arrivals of Christian Benteke, Danny Ings and Divock Origi – who is back with us following a year on loan at Lille.

Indeed, he has been training away from the first-team this summer (via The Guardian), along with teammate Jose Enrique and former colleague Mario Balotelli, who has now completed his move to AC Milan.
Conversely, the Evening Standard claim that Spurs have set their sights on QPR striker Charlie Austin, but with any new signing only likely to be used as back-up to first-choice centre-forward Harry Kane, it is possible that they could see Borini as a decent rotation option – particularly with only days left in the transfer window.
It would certainly give us all a laugh if this one did prove to be true.

45M it seems now. Though Martinez is still saying he is not for sale at any price.

Sterling had played in the champions league and a world cup.

Stones barely has a handful of caps.

On the flip side, we got the money required to get our own targets settled into the squad and few weeks pre-season.

This. Sure, more money is good, but we've had our players for 4 weeks now and they're already showing nice, positive signs. So far, the Benteke + Firmino (even though he's still getting up to speed) trade for Sterling + 10~15m is working out well for us.

Now WBA chairman Jeremy Peace is complaining that Spurs' bid for Berahino unsettled the player and is leaving them with little time to look for replacements. Aw... poor man. They only have 5 strikers now (including Berahino) and they must've known for a long time now that Berahino might want to move on. His last agent was Aidy Ward, ffs! I dislike Spurs - a lot - but who is Peace trying to kid.

Son is lightning isn't he or am I mistaking him with someone else?

*Disclaimer ; Not a racist.

(Sorry, can't resist. 😛)

Navas is bollocks. I imagine everyone's stats are inflated when in contrast to his ..

Charlie Austin to the scum is doing the rounds. That'd be a weird signing for them, they've been putting bids in for bale, ramos, pedro, otamendi etc, and now they go for a striker from the championship that no one wants? Might be bollocks

Unfortunately , you could probably replace Utd with Liverpool in the above paragraph and itd ring pretty true of our current situation ..
