Didn't Mourinho sprint down the touchline waving his arms after that foul?

Maybe he was upset that it was an intentional foul in a friendly but it was just a little kick, also Costa deserves every kick he gets.

Pounds will be your base figure. You, like other English clubs, would hedge against a stronger euro, not a weaker one. Your loss will be far greater than €11m. Not that it matters, of course. You lot have spent £300m in two years. What's a 15m pound loss between marketing executives.
Sadly they can afford it.

One aspect of the monumental fuck up that Rodgers engineered last season was the missed opportunity to leave United right in the shit... They were down and we should have put the boot in.

Depay's instagram post has sparked rumours that Romelu Lukaku is the 'mystery striker' Van Gaal was referring to.

Stoke have signed Afellay

They've been looking for a wide forward / AM type for 3 seasons - first taking Assaidi on loan, then Victor Moses on loan, then agreeing with Inter on a deal for Shaqiri - only for it to be swatted by the player, linked with Konoplyanka and Yarmolenko... and it ends with a thud with a player who has played 50 games in 4 seasons. What are the chances Afellay's body can hold up in this league? They'll be looking for someone again in the summer. I reckon they could have picked up someone like Djuricic instead.

No my maths was ok we bought for €75m sold and rumoured to be selling for €64m an €11m loss. Obviously plus wages of probably about the same or a little more again.

Don't think he was on £250k. Every united player can't be on that much otherwise wages including all other united staff would be far more than £200m.

You'd better think again about that selling price...

if Everton lost Lukaku and Stones that'd be great preparation for the season 👍

Stones would be a very big miss indeed, especially as they've sold Distin, but Lukaku not so much (IMHO of course). Depending on the fee they get for him and how they spend it, they could conceivably end up stronger in that position. Lukaku's very good on his day but I'm not sure that comes along consistently enough. Maybe Mourinho was right about him after all.

That's true Lukaku is hit and miss, I didn't put a lot of thought into the post beyond it's a really bad time to lose big players. A couple of weeks before the season will make them so much more difficult to replace.

Based on what? There's no question he's a very good player but, if he himself has made up his mind that this isn't the place for him, how are you going to get around that?

[article]Nantes chief Waldemar Kita says a deal to sell Aston Villa and Liverpool target Jordan Veretout to a Premier League club is "basically agreed".

Midfielder Veretout has been linked with moves to Aston Villa, Liverpool and Spurs throughout the summer, with French newspaper L'Equipe claiming last week that the Reds had offered £10.7million for the 22-year-old's services.

The Frenchman scored seven goals and provided six assists for Nantes in 36 Ligue Un appearances last season, with many of Europe's top clubs now taking an interest in the France youth international.

With Liverpool thought to be winning the race for his signature, Nantes president Kita has admitted a deal to sell Veretout to "a great English club" is "basically agreed".

"We are basically agreed on everything," Kita told L'Equipe, who claim Villa are now the frontrunners for Veretout's signing.

"I am obliged to give in, he is 22, he has a big future and he will play for a great English club.

"The problem is that there is a substantial tax in France that does not exist elsewhere.

"If (Veretout) has a delusional salary and he comes to see me and decides to leave, it will be hard to oppose."[/article]

Adebayor at villa park. Defo getting 20quid on them to go down if he's the one that's got to save them this season.
