Feck me... Jesus... Is it because I is English!!

OK class goal. .

But getting sick to death of seeing it now. .

Suarez has scored better, far better..

He is over rated in my opinion because he is English, great goal but as you say Luis has scored better...

I think it really is actually all related to being English.

Within a minute of him scoring, there were 10 posts about it in a Liverpool forum. Then it got it's own thread too.

Now we can all post about how silly it is that everyone is making a fuss.

It wasn't even from the half way line, which is how it's being described in the usual over-hyped shite being spoken about it.

Xabi scored one from well inside our half against Newcastle, but you won't here that spoken about as the English media wank off about Rooney. He'll be all set to lead England to World Cup glory now, you watch.

It's the English premier league and he's English FFS. What do you expect?
Of course there's going to be some bias.
To be fair, I really don't mind it.
However, it does does bother me when British players don't get the same treatment from refs or when they get undeserved awards.

Will end up as the Mancs top ever scorer which is some fucking achievement for an average player (as some would have it)

As for the goal, I've only just seen it. Great goal, those blaming the keeper, have a word. He wasn't expecting a shot, was totally disorientated and didn't have a clue where the goal was by the end.

Great goal but as others have said, Suarez has scored better.

Wasn't the keepers fault, but he helped a lot.

It bounced 2 yards before the goal, in the centre! Poor

Did Motd ever compare Suarez and Alonso's goals from the half way line?
Again...bias.

It's like he's overhead kick all over again, good goal but silly talk.

Who cares I love that their season highlight will be this and their low light will be Liverpool doing the double over them for the first time in over 25 years

It's purely because he's English.

We get the rub of the green with it too. Gerrard gets away with a lot with the referees and we saw it last week when Sturridge dived and nobody batted an eye lid.

He's an exceptional player who, if he played for the red half of Liverpool, would be lauded as one of the all time greatest strikers in history.

That said, as spectacular as a goal from the half way line is, we've seen better goals scored this season.

It was a superb goal and a sign of a real quality player in that not many would be prepared to try it, nevermind pull it off.

The is hype because it was Wayne Rooney but then I think Suarez is so prominent now, that he would get comparable attention, so the hype is more about the status of the player rather than him being English or playing for Man U. However, the fact he's English and Man U's main player largely contributes to his stature.

He has world class ability but I don't think he's a world class player. He's not athletic enough or consistent enough.

Am I the only one that thinks if the keeper wasn't so bad for that goal, it would have been easily saved. He lost his position, and took his eye off the ball. That's why it went in.

The other thing about Rooney - he's somehow inspired a generation of hacks that 'Roo' actually works as an all-purpose pun, when in fact it usually makes no sense at all.
