Sturridge and his mental frailty

Count: not until Klopp's taken a proper look at him and made his own mind up, no, especially since he would have to be cheap so there'd be little or no benefit to us. Others are already starting to improve since Klopp's arrival. Only the man himself can decide whether Sturridge might be able to join them.

Maybe we're blowing this all out of proportion and Sturridge is just unlucky as fuck.
If it's a mental problem the club would probably have identified it and sorted him out with psychological help.
But I don't think so. I really think the guy is hurt, I mean the doctors are clearly finding something wrong with him right?

I also know that Sturridge wants to play in the Euro's and with the emergence of Vardy and Kane that dream is slowly drifting away as long as he's not playing. So I don't see how he's faking it or whatever.

I don't think he's faking it. I just think he gets injured a lot, and that makes him cautious, it's perfectly natural he'd be cautious.

But it doesn't matter, the end result is the same, he doesn't play enough games.

Do you guys not think Klopp has suggested on a couple of occasions that the player is saying he's not 100%? I'm not suggesting anything sinister, just that from Klopp's point of view, it seems like he's saying it's as much in his head as a physical issue, which as said, is understandable after such lengthy layoffs. It still leaves a big question over how long this stuff can carry on though.

It's also seems that other players play with niggling injuries all the time. Why is Daniel different?

Mark: agree entirely. I'm confident Klopp with have the right combination of iron fist and velvet glove to make the best of the situation. Sturridge will also know that he's not going to have much of a future career if he leaves LFC with his tail between his legs, which will be an additional incentive to get a grip.

Lets see what the scan says first eh? I dont blame him for being cautious seeing as he's been injured so many times and many of them lenghty spells aswell. Its just so fucking annoying seeing as he's a fantastic player when fit.

Hopefully its nothing serious. We can analyze the situation this summer and decide then. No point doing that this January re selling him. Nobody in their right frame of mind would sign him now anyway.
Lets hope we can get him back on track.

It wouldn't be an excuse, but you could semi understand a player not itching to come back if we were in the form we were in not too long ago, any player in his right mind would be itching to get back into this setup.

Hopefully it's just precautionary. If he's injured again, we need another striker in Jan as this is probably the way of things to come with Studge. Shame, as he's a lethal striker.

Klopp also mentioned a few times just how good Sturridge is in training. I think Klopp will work hard on fixing the mental side and I'm backing him to succeed.

I'm sad for the lad but this is really a vital moment for him. Muscle strains will always be with him but jeez he just can't keep dropping out with these other knocks and stay as a genuinely major player. Huge talent but this cannot go on.

You fellas are being way too nice. The guy is fucking bitching out in a massive way. He's starting to do my head in. Strain here, Twist there, Pull there..... He's young and should be fit. I'm basing that on nothing but I sense something is rotten in Denmark (and I'm not talking about Agger and his career at Brondby)!

This is shit for us and our chances of top 4 this season.

Unless Klopp signs someone in January, should Benteke get injured for any substantial period of time, we are pretty thin for the rest of the season.

Not to mention what a shame it is for us to lose what is, arguably our best player.

We haven't had him or Benteke on the pitch for arguably or two best 45 min performances.

Obviously a fit Studge and Benteke would help but I certainly wouldn't say top 4 is out of the question without them.

If Sakho and Sturridge could keep their bodies in one piece we'd be a whole lot stronger front and back.

We need to be dumping sacks of horse placenta on them daily

I feel bad for him more any thing. Yes, it's a frustrating process for the club and the fanbase, but it's more so the player. There will come a time when a tough decision will be need to be made in regards to his future. I think we would struggle to sell him with the wages he is on and his injury record. I see no other option right now than being patient. One thing I'm sure we can all agree on is the sense behind the Benteke signing has been enhanced with each passing week.

I saw a stat this evening - 144 games possible since he arrived, he plays in 72 of them. Don't know if that's right but if it is, then, sheesh, the only thing that can save him is a season-long run in the team now. You just can't afford to indulge someone who breaks down so often.
