at 18 harvey got 7 goals and 11 assists at blackburn. So thats the benchmark1 goal and 5 assists in 15 games.
I wouldn’t write him off - he’s clearly improving
Fabio’s stats were on fire in comparison and brought him here too soon - not sure why he didn’t develop as he was clearly a high level talent.
But as a Liverpool loanee in the Championship, if you’re gonna be a contender you would need to be at say 5 goals and 10 assists to be considered a starter in waiting
More time might do it
at 18 harvey got 7 goals and 11 assists at blackburn. So thats the benchmark
Yup. So that's the benchmark. If doak beats that (as he seems to have the desire carvalho didn't), then hopefully he'll be a success for usEnd of season stats?
He wasn't blessed with looks. Could be worse I guess. Haaland looks like a hybrid of some kindHe does all the things well your typical old school winger would've done, if he can refine his game so he's not spending so much time out wide and getting involved more centrally (which is where goals more likely to come) then he'll become a real player.
Nah.
Unless he learns when to release the ball early and not think hes maradona, he's ngmi.
He won't be afforded that amount of time against top opposition.
And isn't AFCON next season too?honestly i’m wondering whether we should let him go another season at middlesbrough, especially if they get promoted.
i thought it was a big mistake with carvalho. on one hand Mo rarely misses games and hates being rested but on the other we need depth and he’ll have to compromise that stance slightly with age.
doak doesn’t improve on 5 starts and another handful of late sub appearances next season
That's why I want us to recall him and send him to the Championship or bring him back as back up for GravyThat league looks way too easy for him.
Harvey was just as impressive and Carvalho not to mention the Fulham left back who went to Spurs and failed. Great progress but a long way to go to make it for us.Its still the Championship. I don't want to downplay his performances because he's been brilliant for them, but that is what is expected from someone who wants to play in the premier league.
Three starts, all ending in being subbed off, and 5 sub appearancessomeone, maybe @moron , was asked how he was getting on the other day and i had a google out of interest and found next to nothing. this explains it then.
shame because he looked really promising for tens of minutes in a liverpool shirt
shite, looking like an injury derailed young careerThree starts, all ending in being subbed off, and 5 sub appearances
Banjos highlight reel in Austria looks great. You’re right - we know he’s good enough. We just needed him to catch back up.
I wonder if he could be back for the second half of the season?
