We've played two of the hardest away fixtures we'll have all year.
We lost both 2-1.
In both games however, critical calls were missed by the refs ...
City was obviously the Sterling offsides. It was unacceptable.
I think Webb has outdone Mason today though. How Eto'o remained on the pitch after that studs into knee tackle blows by mind. That should have been a red card and goodbye. I odn't give a shit if it's the 3rd minute, or the 93rd minute. It was a terrible call - he didn't even card it and he saw it. The next key play was Eto'o's ridiculous foul on Suarez in the box. So bad was it that Neville was slamming him non-stop. He saw it too. Two critical calls in a close game, and both went against us (Oscar should have seen red too, but the game was over by then too).
I'm not that upset by these results - we've lost to the best teams in the league 2-1. We can hold our heads up high, and see that we're on the right path. It's absolutely critical we win the next game and get our confidence up 'win' wise, not just 'performance' wise.
