Rub of the Green with Mason and Webb

We've played two of the hardest away fixtures we'll have all year.

We lost both 2-1.

In both games however, critical calls were missed by the refs ...

City was obviously the Sterling offsides. It was unacceptable.

I think Webb has outdone Mason today though. How Eto'o remained on the pitch after that studs into knee tackle blows by mind. That should have been a red card and goodbye. I odn't give a shit if it's the 3rd minute, or the 93rd minute. It was a terrible call - he didn't even card it and he saw it. The next key play was Eto'o's ridiculous foul on Suarez in the box. So bad was it that Neville was slamming him non-stop. He saw it too. Two critical calls in a close game, and both went against us (Oscar should have seen red too, but the game was over by then too).

I'm not that upset by these results - we've lost to the best teams in the league 2-1. We can hold our heads up high, and see that we're on the right path. It's absolutely critical we win the next game and get our confidence up 'win' wise, not just 'performance' wise.

Smith is not ready. What an abysmal performance, don't fucking care if he's a kid.
If he's a kid put him in the reserves where he belongs.
Cissokho would have been a better option.

Jesus Christ he was shit.

Awful decision today, though dont let that disguise the fact that we were pretty shit for most of the game today

If we are lucky our owners will see that we are perhaps just two quality players away from being as good as two of the world's richest clubs and provide some money to make that a reality.

Yep & Got a feeling Rodgers will let rip in the interview and get fined by the fa..
Sick of getting ripped off by these clowns.

Webb has no excuse on that one. An experienced being afraid to call that penalty on suarez is just not good enough. Him and that fat cunt mason have cost us big time.

'pretty shit' at Stamford Bridge and a pathetic call away from a point? Can't be that bad.

@Modo - Cissohko is shit. It's a pointless loan, and we should fuck him off back to Spain.

On a scale of 1-10 though, how fucking bad is GlenJo becoming? I'm starting to hate him so much it's unreal.

And cardiff could had had a couple of penalties against us, ref decisions even themselves out over season.

We were poor today, every area of the pitch bar a few players

We were not 'poor' - we were playing against a team who were playing their BEST GAME OF THE SEASON and who's top 3 purchases cost more than our whole team probably. We held our own, created chances and limited them to what 3 good scoring opportunities. We weren't that bad. Sure, we didn't do as well as we did against City but that's because City didn't work has hard defensively as Chelsea.

Aye that was gash. Crap performance by Webb.

I agree with @Modo about Smith as well. He was fucking dire but I suppose the manager has to take the blame for putting him on. He is clearly not ready. The biggest disappointment for me though was Johnson - A terrible performance. Anyway I'm off to kick something that can smash. Annoyed.

Whatever, a shirt tug in a game we'd already won is a bit different to two crucial, terrible decisions in massive games, it's cost us potentially 2pts. Come back and spout the same bollocks in May when we finish fractionally off a CL place.

Smith was horrendous, couldn't trap a ball to save his life. I know he's just a kid, but seriously that's pretty basic stuff.

HOWARD WEBB.

The minute I saw that this MU fan was refereeing us, I knew there was no way we would win. Simply cos he would try to stop us from winning.

We played so much better in the 2nd half but no thanks to this fool, he stopped us from playing by blowing his whistle each time a Chelski player goes to ground softly.

But when our players were blatantly fouled, he gives us nothing.

Dirty, biased ref.

This is exactly why sometimes I become so disillusioned with the game.

Exactly it is Rodgers fault he took a big fucking gamble and it blew up in his face.

What did you expect to Smith to do that Cissokho couldn't on the left wing?
One thing Cissokho does well is that he gets crosses into the box. That would have helped.

You can never really predict how a debut will go, if he's played well all week in training, done it in the reserves and is knocking on the door of the first team, then needs must. If we want to get him in the team then he had to play at some point, it could have gone swimmingly and people would have said it was genius. Nerves got the better of him, shit happens. We don't need Modo telling us that whoever said "get him on" should fuck off. Not when the same guy is banging on about Cissokho.

Chelsea were diving expertly ... From Luis to Azicupelta to Oscar to Hazard ... and to make matters worse, two red card tackles only resulted in ONE card ... Howard Webb ... England best ref ... says it all really.

Moaning about refs is easy, should have created more chances.

Let's just go calling all Northern Africans twins ... It suits me better than someone thinking we'd waltz right through a Mourinho organized defense, and shouldn't complain about stone walled penalties.

It's stunning really - Gary Neville, the biggest manc in the world, says it was a penalty and hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm thinks we shouldn't be pissed about it! 🙂 Ahhh Armageddon is closing upon us.

It was a poor, tired performance, but we stayed within touching distance of a result, something that's crucial if you want to challenge, being able to get a point or three while playing poorly. It was a big decision that cost us, you seem to be the only person who doesn't recognise this, and instead (typically) you choose to beat your favourite drum about how we only have ourselves to blame. No, we have another cunt of an official stood two yards away from a blatant incident, not doing what he's paid to do and once again, typifying refs tendencies to favour certain sides on their home patch.

Blaming refs is easy. Fuck off.

Screw Cissokho, put Alberto on, Aspas, maybe even Touré. WTF is he doing playing an untried kid against Chelsea away, when we're down 2-1???
There's absolutely no logic in that. Doesn't surprise me that people are defending that shite from Brendan.

Yes it was a bad call. We agree

Also we played shit. I

What a twat as usual.

As above, clear penalty.
