Now Bayern.

Yep, he's been training with Bayern now. Rummenigge has already stated that they are trying to sign him for 4 mill euros.
He'll probably continue his training experience across Europe and then choose the club that he feels will be the best for his development.

Maybe, but he's apparantly been promised a place in the first team squad.
Real are desperate to get him and he's been there 3 times now.
Sounds like he and his father knows what they're doing.

The facilities at Valdebebas are second to None in the World I think and training with Ronaldo etc while playing for Castilla a season or loaned out to another Spanish team could work.

Biggest transfer ever in Norwegian history, which doesnt say much...

Is definitely making the wrong choice in joining Madrid.

The only 2 players who have progressed from the Academy to the first team in recent times are Raul & Casillas ... there have been others who left the Academy and found their way back to Madrid like Carvajal & Arbeloa ... & then there are others like Juan Mata who came through the Academy but made their name elsewhere.

But in terms of progressing to the Madrid first team I'm not liking his chances at all. Unless he is an insane prodigy his chances will always be very limited.

Money talks - chalk another one up to the Spanish tax advantage.

Maybe his father has decided padding the bank account now - just in case he flops - is the best way to go. He can always go back to the Norwegian league.

He just turned 16 though. Talking about who he'll replace is a bit far fetched.
Real have the best facilities in the World and have as I understand it presented him with a plan for how he'll progress into the player they think he can become. If that includes a loan here and there than and Ødegaard is fine with that I say go for it.

The biggest club in the World are desperate to sign you, most players would jump at that chance. He and his father have visited all the top clubs and if this is their decision then its well thought through.

If he's good enough, he'll get to play eventually. If not he'll learn a helluva lot training with the best players in the World, playing for Castilla and then make a career at another club.

is there any evidence to support that training with worlds best furthers development over playing first team every week for AN. Other team?

I can think of too many starlets like this lad that opted for the bigger club with better facilities only for that to ultimately stunt their growth or fuck up their career.

He's right to get some money now. A lot of footballers make the "right" decision and go to a club to get games, most end up not making and never make money. Better he at least makes some now and can say he played for the biggest club in the world. 99% of future stars end up as flops, so take it while you can.

Well, I doubt that. This is the most level headed kid I've seen at 15. Works hard and wants to succeed.

If anyone doubt that Real wants him and have some big plans for him. They're going to give him the kit nr 16, which means he cant play for the Castilla side according to Spanish footy rules.
He's been given guaranteed promises about first team footy apparently.

If he has to drop down another level after a few years. No problem imho.

Not any more. Beckham law was repealed ages ago and the top rate of tax is 52% now I believe

I'm not so sure it is.

All the talk is about how he's been guaranteed a route into the first team and that is something important to him. So it's safe to assume he wants to be there or thereabouts in a couple years time, right?

Isco is 22 and James Rodriguez is 23 and Real are still likely to go out and buy more players.

True, but Real seem to have big plans for him. Either way if he cant break into the Real first team he'll get good loan move somewhere and if he has to take a step down after a few years there is no shame in that.

Him and his family have gone through this very thoroughly, so if they end up with Real its because they feel that's the best way for him going forwards. Money wont be the decider.

A Marca reporter talked to some Real players after a training session, and they were shocked when they saw what level Odegaard was on in terms of quality. If he signs for them, he'll play some games.

He is a wonder kid. There is no doubt about the quality. Biggest thing since Laudrup from Scandoland. We dont have a chance I think 🙁

He's in for one hell of a shock. It's a big world out there. He won't find everyone eating bacon, burying fish and rolling about naked in the snow all day in Spain. I fear he'll go running back home.

Real Madrid paper talks to Real Madrid players about in-demand, hottest teenage prospect in world football (arguably) that Real Madrid want to sign desperately and they enthuse.

WELL,I AM STUNNED, I GOTTA LIE DOWN!
