Other forum meltdown watch 24/25

Im just saying if you want to be precious, you can't say, self harm is serious in all forms, we must take it seriously... Except when you do it because you're upset, I don't even see that as self harm, apologize to the people who matter more.

Or is the message that self harm isn't pathological if you're really stressed and you only scratch yourself hard in extreme circumstances? That's an interesting message too.

His bad coping strategy for stress was on the spectrum of self harm, scratching himself violently, which isn't unusual at all. It's text book non suicidal self injury.

Many people who later cut, do this to begin with. Many just stay at this level, or hitting/smacking themselves. Men and women have different tendencies for behavior. Women do scratch more but it's not unusual behavior for nssi for males.

So, to review. We get a guy who under pressure references and attempts to trivialize his own mild self harm.

Then, we make him issue an apology, because think of the the teen girls? Think of the children self harming.

I can't imagine many more poetic examples of how this society teaches everyone that if you're an adult male, nothing inside you matters at all.

By the way, the male population is understudied for self harm, as fewer doctors ask about it. I wonder why?

In the UK, suicide is the leading cause of death for men under 50.
I also remember seeing something about 3/4 of all suicides (in the uk at least) are men.

Not that I want to derail the thread but the pressure must be immense and it seems he gets really personal (for want of a better word) about it.
He quit Barca citing burnout/pressure/stress etc.
People talk about intensity and what not but it's insightful watching the managers, like how Arteta was pretty much in tears one match they lost.

I really think Klopp is 'the normal one' he could see it getting too much and affecting him and quit.
Pep, I bet had they done ok this season he's have walked but they've gone on this terrible run and like Klopp a few seasons back when he extended he needed to prove he could keep it going and so stayed.

now i feel guilty about enjoying the beginnings of a guardiola melt down, this is bullshit

jokes aside, good posts @Farkmaster ridiculous double standards in play here, asking the stressed out man in a high pressure job to apologise. i like to think they asked if he’s ok first.

Yeah let's make this all about me. But anyways I'm just out of a counselling session and the point was made loads of times that this is really common at this age. I'm a couple of years younger than pep but people can go from having little blips and shoving stuff away for decades to full nervous breakdown when the final straw finally breaks. I'm no shrink but he needs some time off.

Imagine being him. Highest expectations in world football for decades, and cheating or not has achieved them consistently. We've seen how intense he is even in his body language every time someone asks him a normal question. Sometimes he looks like he's just been punched in the balls, and always replies sarcastically. He thinks about football all the time. He's a perfectionist. Nothing else matters. He's always operated at the top level, but now no matter how much passion he injects it's all falling to shit... he's never had to deal with this before and his head has gone.

I agree with @Farkmaster, he shouldn't have to apologise for feeling fucking awful and butting the wall. He should do something about it.

On the he always thinks about football.
He's an absolute freak for the tactics/gameplan and more.

And I mentioned it a few weeks ago, but I do wonder if his obsession/ passion/ energy needs someone to balance it or play off.
A worthy adversary.

Maybe it was Jose and then Klopp and now he's just lost.

On a 3.5 hour train ride so did the obvious thing to kill time - checked our the Redcafe and Bluemoon CL threads.
The thick dickhead posters aside most were complimentary and the City fans very leery of Sunday and fearful of our press and midfield

This comment tickled : "(our) walking football will confuse them"...

Bluemoon : 62.6% think they'll lose.

"Was the 8-1 by Middlesboro our biggest EPL defeat?"?

"
My aim would to keep it down to 3-0 with a line up of:

Ortega Ederson
Walker Akanji Dias Ake Guardiol
Silva Lewis Nunes Gundo Grealish
Foden Stones
Haaland."

"
Think I’ll have to watch this one with the sound off
And the screen off.."

Probs off topic but your post reminded me of this.

I clocked a pretty odd and fairly revealing exchange on TV between Klopp and Pep once. I'm not sure if it was picked up by the media here in the UK really but I noticed it because I think I might have been on holiday in Greece at the time so it was the Greek audio feed on the TV and not the UK one. I'm always intrigued or at least mildly curious to see how rival players and managers interact prior to a game. I think in this instance it was a pre-match tunnel exchange between the two. I'm pretty sure it was a community shield game a few years back.

Anyway with the TV camera on them the Greek audio feed went silent and you could absolutely hear everything they said to each other in the tunnel.

Both of them looked slightly awkward (probably because the TV camera was right next to them) Klopp easily looked the most relaxed though and frankly was much more of a dominant presence and body language etc. Pep came across like some boring nerd who (and I really do mean this) Klopp seemed completely bemused by.

P - Good Summer?

K - Yeah pretty good. You?

P- Oh Yeah I played lots of golf. Do you play golf?

K - No Never. - I'm not into golf

P - Oh Ok ....... (pause) Because I finally got my handicap down to .......

K - I don't know what that means because I don't play but is that good? (laughs)

P - Oh yeah - It's really good for me because I like golf.

K - You really are a boring fucking twat aren't you.

P - I like golf

K - Can you shut the fuck up about golf? I double dare you to say something mildly interesting you fucking boring cunt..

P - I like golf.

I laughed lots at the time. When I got home from my hols I was keen to rewatch it as I'd recorded it on sky. Annoyingly on the UK version the sky broadcasters were blathering about some bollocks so what was said wasn't really picked up by the normal audio feed.

I might have paraphrased that a smidge but that was the jist.

Anyway I think Pep likes Golf...

I can across the unedited transcript of the conversation actual conversation….

P - Good Summer?

K - Yeah pretty good. You?

P- Oh Yeah I fucked lots of dogs. Do you fuck dogs?

K - No Never. - I'm not into fucking dogs

P - Oh Ok ....... (pause) Because I finally got my cock in a schnauzer .......

K - I don't know what that means because I don't fuck dogs but is that good? (laughs)

P - Oh yeah - It's really good for me because I like fucking dogs .

K - You really are a horrible fucking twat aren't you.

P - I like fucking dogs

K - Can you shut the fuck up about fucking dogs? I double dare you to say something mildly interesting you fucking horrible cunt..

Mad how quick things change. If you had told me in August we’d be playing Liverpool Dec 2nd without Allison, Jota, most likely Konate and Trent not having played in a month, I’d have said we’d batter them. Anfield or no Anfield.

Now I feel like it doesn’t matter how many of them are out I’m not expecting to win the game.

So what you're saying is...

After Gravy and Diaz, Arne Slot is going to rescue Pep Guardiola now?

Maybe Pep loved Klopp more than we did/do?
Fickle bastards that we are, Slot won a few a games and we've forgotten what a gorgeous guy Klopp was.
Maybe Pep really just can't let go and wants Klopp back in his life.

There’s only one place to go.

Waited until we went down 2-0 to take off rico Lewis . Mind boggling
He's got to Go! No ifs, no buts, Go!
On the face of it we got off lightly
I'd have snapped your hand off for 2 nil before kick off to be quite honest. This is now all about top 4. Walker can never play again.
Cannot even blame the players for that one. Completely on Pep.
Time to get my old Chelsea shirt from the loft
A lot of us would have taken 2-0 before the game at the moment.

The second half was better, but the major difference is the intensity. Look at them harassing our back 4 in the 94th minute. We didn’t do it at all.
Much better for long periods, but still full of brain farts and players that just don't score anymore, Foden, Bernado, wingers have no goals in them. And Peps two year deal doesn't fool the team.
At least erling having a laugh
That was a hard watch, I said not long ago that I wouldn’t be surprised if we bounced back and found our form to go on and win the champions league or even the PL but it’s not happening this season, no way.
I fucking hate seeing players like Haaland laughing at the final whistle, where’s your fucking pride!?
Didn’t watch the shit as I knew we would lose and I hate the Dippers. Does Arne Slot seem like a decent guy or is he as annoying as Bingo?
A shameful spineless performance … especially that 1st half, as bad as when Alan Ball was in charge.
Oh boy. Spirit yes but the lack of quality was stark. Defence is shocking. Midfield non-existent.
At least it reminded me how much I hate that feral bunch.
Deserved nothing walking football at its finest. Kevin should have been on a lot sooner. Depressing to see what we’ve become.
Hopefully that gets rid of a few thousand more walk fans. And quite a few on here.
First 30 minutes were a disgrace but outside of that not as bad as expected. In a perfect world Walker and Gundogan never starts another game for us, and we start looking forward but have to atleast see the season out with a couple of totally inept players sadly.
Wrong starting team
Too slow to get subs on
Same players letting us down

However we played better than expected & did ok.

January signings & top 4 is all that matters.

5/6 of these starting players are fully done but thank you for everything
Fuck me though how bad is our defence
we are pretty much done this season I think
reformation needed
What a fucking Shambles we’ve turned into embarrassingly so
Game was lost before it started. Could easily have conceded 3-5 more. I simply can’t understand how the best manager of all time once again starts a midfield of Rico, Gundo and Bernardo when they’ve proven again and again that they don’t go together at all. Once again offering zero protection for the back 4.

11 points behind with Rodri out for the rest of the season. This time we won’t turn it around, impossible to fix even half of our issues in January
Seven matches without a win. Conceding more than 2 goals a game at the moment. That's dreadful
On the club, Txiki etc.

Kept hold of ageing players, knew for 3 summer windows that Rodri needed help and did nothing or bought crap, and then plenty of bad buys.
We’re light years off them at the moment. Need to focus on getting top 4 now.
Awful
Dreadful performance imo we only look threatening when Doku came on
Said this b4 too
There is something wrong at the club
Shite City, you got what u deserved
Is Pele available?
Can someone tell Ratboy Neville a 0-2 is a moral victory for City
The Forest game is now the biggest game of the season. It could go really pear shaped if we don't win that.
Can't wait for the bell ends to say we are not in a crisis and it is ok because we used to be shit. We are fucking awful and our points tally flatters us. Outside of the top 4, spineless performances and our manager repeating the same mistakes. Shambolic.
Apart from anything else luck is not with us at the moment.
Every mistake we make seems to result in a goal for the opposition.
Whereas Van Dijk makes a mistake and somehow their goalkeeper manages to save it between his legs.
Top 4 is our only hope. Defending is the worst ive seen us under Pep and creating chanches against good teams is really difficult for the team atm. Leave it on Pep to sort it out ,but most of the players are really underperforming.

What's the deal with City and them getting Chelsea shirts out ?
Nothing about our performance, they honestly believe they lost because they didn't play well. This is why they have fallen behind United in GD.
