IF it's 4mill and 40k a week for 2yrs, then that's a pretty good deal really, decent 3rd/4th choice striker to prop the bench up. Much rather him than fucking aspaz. This is it, even if he only chips in with 8-10 goals, it's a good addition to what we already have, for £4m. Towards the end of the season when Suarez and Sturridge were both lagging, we could have done with someone else coming in, even if it was just partway through games. He'll also help in games where we're struggling to keep hold of the ball up top and gives us the ability to mix it up a bit, more threat from setpieces, another good penalty taker (Europe, Cups). Sound buy IMO, I'm sure we'll be buying big also, so I don't know why the same posters always have to fret, especially so early in the Summer.

Hopefully mate, it's just a shame that people give so much credit to every link that comes up and then go mental when it doesn't come off. It's a long Summer, it irritates me that people get wound up about stuff from the off, like signing this guy for £4m meaning that we're obviously not signing anyone for a big fee. If we sign Lallana for £20m or whatever, the stance will still be the same, because he plays for Southampton and isn't exotic enough.

Yep, nice to see. I presume there was a lot less barriers to over come in the completion of this transfer though. Lambert is probably willing to sign his life away and I doubt his agent is meddling too much. It's a pity all transfers aren't as straightforward as this one seems to be.

I was just wondering as they're always referred to as "people" and so it's never quite clear (at least to me) who is the target and which arguments are in the firing line.

Hold up a second. All i said was that lambert was a 'meh' signing and that after rodgers said no more squad signings his first signing is a squad player. I've never been a big fan of lambert and to be honest all those noises i was making about last summer were true. I said alberto and aspas were poor signings and waste of money and we overpaid BIG TIME and it was proved true. I'm not knocking lambert. If we make some 1st team quality signings i have no issue with it. Just i'm not exactly excited about signing Lambert. Hardly me making noises. I've hardly even posted on this thread. Am i meant to pretend to like a player just to fit in or something or am i not allowed an opinion unless it matches yours. You're quick to bitch about people going off on one when you do it all the time on many issues.
