Joe Allen

That back pass made me shit my pants. Pepe didn't get nearly enough credit for controlling that and distributing it under great pressure.

As James says, Pepe dealt with it very well too! If Skrtel's learnt anything from yesterday, it is not to try and copy the Welsh maestro.

True.

I didn't see the whole game (listened to 5Live, watched MOTD2) so didn't get a good look at Allen.

That compilation video got me aroused, somewhat.

If a person can't see the kid is quality, that person should be quiet.

Toni, I suggest you watch those clips, or even better, the match again, cos you're quite mad. Allen was simply class, & made it look easy, which is incredible.

You even havent watched the game!?
YOU should be quiet!

There used to be people who didnt rate Ronnie Whelan in the late 80's (after he moved into the centre) ...

No, not really.

A load of people whose opinion matters to me have been saying for a while that Joe Allen is pure class.

Your opinion is based in fuck knows because it makes no sense.

I could see from those clips that he obviously has great ability and confidence.

So, no, I shouldn't be quiet, because I'm not talking a steaming pile of shat.

Eh, Del you're my favorite poster dont say that!😉
He was good lads but come on! shots on goals? on target? goals?
Gerrard almost scored with one of his crosses, Allen is like another Lucas

Allen had to step back and play defensively due to Lucas going off right at the beginning. Quick question, did Allen fuck your cat or kick your Mum or something?

I watched the match, dont need to see the clips... He was good as I said..but im still not convinced he was the player we needed to spend that much money on..

Allen will play the ball forwards more often when the movement ahead of him gets better.

Correct.

I think we're keeping it tight until we're used to the defensive side, then our forwards will gamble more

So excited

That's not a massive deal though when his instinct is to carry the play forward, as he does on a few occasions, he raises the momentum. The problem with Henderson is two fold, he gets the ball and isn't positive in any shape or form, he stands there and just looks for the easy option.

The "he's only a kid", "he'll improve, the potential is there" lines aren't needed when it comes to Allen. The potential is there and it's there for all to see.

He's only played 3 games for us and you can already see why Rodgers rates him to highly.

So, although you say " the potential is there" line isn't needed you go and use it anyway ? 😀

No, the potential is there and it's there for all to see with regards Allens. Whereas with Henderson, some say it's there but we can't see it. Innit 😀

It was great to see Allen play yesterday.
For a guy so young he is really assured. He was up against a quality midfield yesterday and no one even got near him. Against lesser sides this year he should be able to do more damage further up the pitch.

One or two more like him and we'll back in the CL places soon enough.

*Faceplam*. 😀

What frightens me most is he still has potential to improve like people said, because against city that was the best performance from a Liverpool midfielder I've seen in a long time. Him and Sahin together could or should I say will form a formidable partnership.

It's like he weaves a web around him. He shapes the team. He cultivates coherence. He's immediately vital - so much so we'll come to dread him missing a match.
