Joe Allen

I think I'm already in love with this guy. He really is the new Alonso.
I love how he is off the ball, always aware of where everyone else is, excellent movement too.

Yeah, he is a class act. I think BR is right. In a few years people would pay double what we have for him.

Ladies and Gentleman, I present to you the new star of Liverpool's midfield for years to come. Joseph Allen.

Uncomplicated, unfussy, gets the job done. Keeps it simple and stays away from the limelight. The Whelan comparisons are early and people don't remember that Whelan was very much an understated enforcer in our midfield.

But Joe Allen is a star. I'm really very impressed with him.

I expected his exceptional use of the ball and ability to control the tempo of a match.
What I didn't expect was how good he is at winning the ball back.

He really is class. Was it Ryan who called him a 'Rolls Royce of a footballer'? Pretty apt so far.

Oh, and fuck having time to settle in. He looks like he has been playing in this team for years.

Some people are just born lucky. Not only is he ace at football and has the privilege to play for LFC, but he's welsh as well.

Ryan called it right in that he was good, but if I remember right he described him as being like Nasri or someone who plays in the hole rather than a proper CM. In fact he said- "he isn't a CM". And he is a proper CM.

So, much as I love to see Ryan's modesty rewarded with praise, I actually wonder how much he saw of Allen to describe him as a Nasri-like player rather than a central lynch-pin.

I do remember it right:
