Some great interceptions in there, my only issue with him is that 90% of those passes where backwards or sideways. We need player who can play incisive forward passes to create goalscoring opportunities.
So, if he is that good should we not play him further up the pitch where he can utilise this great passing he has?

That's not a massive deal though when his instinct is to carry the play forward, as he does on a few occasions, he raises the momentum. The problem with Henderson is two fold, he gets the ball and isn't positive in any shape or form, he stands there and just looks for the easy option.
I still maintain you wouldn't have won the world cup if not for the fact that you pinched Lewsey from us.

Exactly. More often than not, he passes it to a player with time and space. And he does the little things like playing it into the receiver's path, rather than straight to them or behind them. He simply enhances the fluidity of our play. Henderson, and to a lesser extent, Lucas, could learn a lot from this kid.
I dislike this. A lot. He was brilliant. That said, people thought Pirlo and Xavi were invisible in the beginning.
If you think Allen was invisible yesterday, you probably know nothing about football.

Thanks for that. I'd completely forgotten that goals and shots on target are the only measure of a player's quality and contribution to the team.

There are different types of midfielders... you know each with a different type of function in the team.
If shooting and scoring is all that matters, then why bother with midfielders? Just have 6 forwards in the team and be done with it.
Just go the whole hog and have one goal keeper and 10 forwards!
Ross and Lech would probably go to some lengths to justifying this. One keeper, 10 goalscorers and no manager, sorted.
