Studies in the Us showed last year that smoking related diseases caused almost double the amount of deaths than smoking,murders,car accidents and suicides combined.
So where are your facts?

But you're forgetting all the positives that alcohol has. It makes you funnier, smarter and increases your dancing skills exponentially.

Well there are two separate issues there : the affect on the family/friends and the affect on society in general. I'd argue that alcohol has a more serious affect on the general public whilst smoking (via terminal illnesses) a more powerful affect on families. That's not to decry the affect of alcohol on families - just not to the same extent as smoking-related deaths.
