This window has been shit?
I think it's been pretty decent tbh.
Carrol gone.
Aspas, has scored 3 goals so far.
Alberto looks OK.
Mignolet is top class keeper, imo.
Touré was free and hasn't done anything wrong yet.
Both Ayre and Rodgers have stated that we're about to sign a few more players, so it's not over yet.
Also, if this window is shite what do you call the summer when we signed Downing, Hendo, Adam, Coates, Enrique and Bellamy?
So far we've replaced like for like. For all the manager's mutterings about improving the squad, have we really? Mignolet for Reina maybe. Toure for Carragher not a major improvement. I'm not Shelvey's biggest fan but was he any worse than this Alberto lad? Only time will tell on that one. Aspas looks a half decent addition. If Suarez goes we simply won't find someone as good as all the decent strikers have gone or ruled moves out. Brendan has talked about 2 first team players coming in. I think like the owners he talks the talk.......Reminds me of Parry's "Edge of the seat signings" disaster.
Liverpool pursue loan move for versatile Benfica defender Lorenzo Melgarejo

Brendan Rodgers likes the look of the 22-year-old Europa League Final star, and sees him as possible cover for Jose Enrique
How to win over the fans: Lorenzo Melgarejo of Benfica attempts to give David Luiz of Chelsea a shoeing![]()

Liverpool have made a surprise loan move for Benfica defender Lorenzo Melgarejo.
Boss Brendan Rodgers is keen to find a back up left back for injury prone Jose Enrique, and he sees the versatile 22 year old - who can also play in a more attacking role - as the perfect option.
Melgarejo was a regular starter with Benfica last season and played against Chelsea in the Europa League final, but he is keen on a move to a bigger league, and Rodgers will offer an initial year long loan deal, with a view to a permanent move to Anfield.
Liverpool have also tracked French international Aly Cissokho, but have found the wage demands difficult to countenance, and he sees the Paraguayan as the perfect alternative.
The only problem could be a work permit for the South American, but the Reds are confident they can gain permission to sign the player, given he has just forced his way into the Paraguay national side.

If we keep Suarez I'm very happy with the window bar not getting a better CB
Just got to hope we keep Suarez and don't get injuries.
why though ? Aspas looks like a decent addition , mingolet perhaps also although in a position that wasn't critical unless reina left .. but will either take the team to the next level ? We're basically the same as last season and yes we ended it in semi decent form but we have a large gap to close and i doubt we have done enough so far to do that . We surely need to fix our midfield and add some more top , top quality to the team .
Even if we somehow keep Suarez our current squad isn't good enough for top 4. Far from it.
I beg to differ, our "squad" without European football, is good enough to get into the top four.
But with a little fine tuning we can do even better.
The additions of Sturridge and Countinho in Janurary made us a much better side after xmas so with Aspas added into that attack I'm quite happy with it.
Getting a potentially 5-8 year goalkeeper for what we sell Reina for is great business and we've brought in an experienced CB on a free.
Not to mention another promising Spainish younster (granted he's looked rubbish in pre season)
Add to that Ibe looks ready to break through and Sterling should also improve and I don't think we are that bad a shape (if Suarez stays)
Did we or did we not try to buy Mkhitaryan for like £25 million?
The money is there. But we need to find the right players to spend it on.
Most importantly we need to find players who are willing to join us.
