Liverpool related transfer speculation

Momentum building on this…

Bournemouth and Spain under-21s defender Dean Huijsen, 19, has a £50m release clause in his contract which can be activated from this summer, with Liverpool among the clubs interested. (Fabrizio Romano)
I take it momentum is above monitoring, keeping an eye on, keen on and 'reportedly ready' ? Does it equal Targeting perhaps? Or is that the next step up !

*Yours truly, Confused in Seaforth

Are you looking to buy coffee? I've got some rare coffee beans grown in wales, normally £7500/kg, I will give it to you for £1250/kg. Send me a cheque to my Lagos address
A CHEQUE !?!?! You're not very good at this game are you. Bank transfer is where it's at !

Its Barca not an italian outfit. They paid a kings ransom for suarez and courtino . I think £50m is a fair price for Diaz
With the add-ons, which I imagine have largely been triggered, we paid £50 miliion for Diaz, and now we're going to sell him for that? I'd want a bit more of a sweetener in this.

There will need to be a discussion about Gomez this summer as well. Might be a good time to cash in on another player that cant stay fit.

That would mean bringing in a right back, left back (or two) and a centre back. Seems like too much change. But I do get the point about his injury record.

2 years left on his deal, will miss about 30 games this season through injury and will be 28 in May.
Its definitely the right time to sell. There was talk of a 40-45 mill transfer last summer.

2 x hamstring injuries in a few months as well. Not sure I think its a good idea to have a player like that stuck in the squad going forward.

I suspect nobody is signing Gomez to be first choice, nobody, because he's incapable of it. So he may as well stay here and win things as a squad member rather than be on the bench or injured for a club winning fuck all.

I know there was Newcastle last year, but a club that size will not come in for him now he's had another year out.

What was it last season? 40m? For a backup defender it's a sell all day long. We will be lucky to get 25m now.

I can imagine Jota going to someone like Fulham / West Ham for 40-50m.

I think we need to see more goals from MF. Quentin Timbers has a serious injury and wont return till July. Tijjani Reijnders, a player I put forward before. Scores about in 1 in 3, and play CDM, CM and CAM. It could mean that Harvey leaves to make room for him. I think Endo should be kept, he is happy on the bench and with the minutes he gets.
Not sure who we get for RB, Bradley still a season or two from being at the level he needs to be. The name Vanderson has been touted before. Proper traditional RB with height.
For me if someone said you will get
Vanderson
Huijson/Medina
Hato
Reijnders
Cunha
Davids

Leaving
Trent
Harvey
Robbo
Nunez
Diaz
Tsimikas

i would be happy with the above, in my head that almost gives us a perfect balance.

Rijnders is close to signing a new deal with Milan.
Thats okay as long as Hughes can see we need more goals from MF. Come summer 1st priority is sure up the defence followed by seeing who leaves in the FWD line and then seeing how we get more goals from MF.
he has almost a whole year off, so lets see what he gets done

Premier League giants Arsenal and Liverpool are both interested in signing Eintracht Frankfurt centre-forward Hugo Ekitike (22), according to Foot Mercato. Earlier today, RMC Sport previously reported that the France U21 international striker is the subject of interest from at least three Premier League sides. It appears Mikel Arteta’s Gunner and Arne Slot’s Reds are one of them. West Ham United are thought to be the third outlet, according to Foot Mercato.

Ekitike left PSG a year ago in the 2024 winter transfer window after being frozen out by head coach Luis Enrique and Sporting director Luis Campos for refusing to be used as a makeweight in Les Parisiens‘ pursuit of Randal Kolo Muani. Ekitike eventually joined Kolo Muani’s previous club – Eintracht Frankfurt – on loan initially. After a flurry of eye-catching performances, the Bundesliga signed the Stade de Reims Academy product on a permanent deal after agreeing to a €16m fee with PSG. Ekitike is tied with Die Adler over a contract set to expire in 2029. The 22-year-old picked up where he left off and his numbers have drastically improved. He has logged 17 goals and six assists in all competitions this season.

Eintracht reportedly intend to stick with Ekitike for a further year before agreeing to part ways in exchange for an eye-watering transfer fee in 2026. Although, they may be tempted to cash in next summer as Arsenal and Liverpool are both keen to bolster their attacking options with the 22-year-old Frenchman.

We're not getting better value for a PL striker than this for £63m.

Hopefully the Saudis pay that for Nunez and we're skipping.

I completely agree with you mate. Cunha is industrious and thats what the team needs. I think his work rate is on par with that of Mane. While he could definitely do well as a striker, I think he'd be even more effective as a DM or AM, rotating with Szobo, Mac, or Gravy making our mid most formidable and the best on the planet. We could probably sell Harvey or even Jones for a decent amount to make room for him.
