if mussachios hand isnt in play, is it offside?

I thought so but a few people in the match thread said otherwise

The itv highlights had Fowler saying he thought it would be offside but Hoddle reckons they changed the rules a few years ago to consider the player active regardless of whether he's still on the pitch.

Seems like the right answer is that hand didn't matter

Lord Lovren Of Liverpool. Drink him in.

What is it with you winning these Random bets? Do you just bet on everything? Are we missing a thousand betting slips on every eventuality?

Last night I did five 4 quid bets. Never done own goal before but saw 25 and thought fuck it. Tonight I did 8 2.50 silly bets and then remembered last night and thought fuck it, do the same again

I kept saying that but I was the only one who spotted it and all my jokes were totally wasted on everyone

They did change the rule.

They did so as players were deliberately going behind the touchline as their teammate attacked & then back into play when any player backed off to ge touchline, which was clever, but definitely against the spirit of the rules if not the rules themselves at the time.

Delighted that the season isn't over.
Fantastic performance by the lads.
People have said a lot of positive things about our midfielders and strikers but I'd like to give our defence some major props.
Especially Touré who at 42 is looking a lot more assured than our other defenders.
Kinda wish he was a bit younger cause his partnership with Lovren would definitely be promising.

Boring James Milner

Twitter › BoringMilner

I just asked Emre Can if he was excited to be in the final. He said of course he was. I said I thought you might be.

Boring James Milner is a bit shite.

Just enjoy how good he is for us.

Forget the skill by Firmino (understandably hard to do, I know) but who is Klopp yelling at?

I think he's telling Moreno to stay back, not sure.

Sensational stuff.

Absolutely brilliant to be back in a European Cup Final.

Knocking out Utd, Dortmund and Villarreal on route makes it even sweeter.

A change to win another trophy and get back in the CL quicker than expected.

What a transformation Klopp has overseen.

Two cup finals and is implanted a style everyone will fear.

Managers don't make a difference eh?

Just noticed from the highlights that Klopp seemed pretty stoic after Sturridge's goal. Wonder what that was about.

If it's a full back he's yelling at, I think it's more likely to be Clyne. Moreno was the spearhead of that breakaway, and it was his hard push down the centre that had Villarreal retreating and helped make space for Sturridge. Moreno was the farthest man forward about 10 yards ahead of Clyne, who was the trailing runner on the "wrong" side of the pitch; think it'd have been harsh for Klopp to want Moreno to track back to his position given the hard push he'd made down the middle that pegged Villarreal back.
