Especially Touré who at 42 is looking a lot more assured than our other defenders.
Kinda wish he was a bit younger cause his partnership with Lovren would definitely be promising.

Villareal really were full of nasty little shits. Should have had at least one more sent off.

I watched them win at Valencia at the weekend and wasn't impressed with either team. I figured we had a decent chance tonight but was hoping we had a decent ref because Villareal are a deviously snide team (even by Spanish standards) and were diving, play-acting and haranguing the ref at every opportunity. Thankfully the ref tonight didn't fall for their histrionics (apart from the Clyne booking) and we got the result we deserved.

top performance this evening. what a signing milner has been. great performances from firmino can lovren and kolo. a great second half from lallana too who i thought was very quiet in the first half. havent seen it mentioned yet but kudos to ming for pulling off that early save. if that went in the net we had a huge mountain to climb

if i had to nitpick moreno is a fucking liability. he cant tackle without fouling. his marker always gets in behind him. as a fullback he really doesnt track back well. and when he does get forward hes very wasteful. while we should be favourites for the final hes the number 1 contender for someone whos gonna cost us the trophy.

not really sure but i cant find any other reason why the goal stood. i mean if you take mussachio out of the equation its a very blatant offside that no linesman should miss. so yeah im assuming if his entire body is off the pitch lallana is offside.
