Right... Would you swap Suarez for Ronaldo or Messi?

Nah, would Ronaldo/Messi be better for us? Maybe. But Suarez's character, and dedication to the team is so endearing, I don't think you get quite the same level of work rate and passion in those two.

In our current state, Suarez all day long.

Questions is would barca/real swap him for their players.....

If it is Messi PLUS CR7 in exchange for Suarez, who in their right mind would not?

But the question is not in the right mind it is beyond crazy.

Is this a trick question? Messi is the best player to have ever played the game.
It's a toss up between Suarez and ronaldo at the moment though.

Given we already have Suarez, and we know he works in our team, I'd keep him.

But if we had none at the minute and never had them, I'd go for Messi, then Ronaldo, then Suarez.

Messi ahead of Ronaldo on age, and Ronaldo and Messi ahead of Suarez as they have both done it for longer.

But are they going to continue doing it ?

Who knows, they're all roughly the same age, Messi is the only one currently with injury problems, but he hasn't had enough to say he's done.

I'd say they're all about as likely to, Suarez may be least likely to, given he hasn't done it for that long, Ronaldo may be most likely to, but he's oldest.

But I can't see any factor that would say any of them is definitely not going to. But I'm sure you have?

Suarez has shown what he can do for us and there probably isn't anyone in better form in world football. So not right now, no.

Ronaldo and Messi however have been having seasons like Suarez is having for years though.

Nah, it's hard to say whether Suarez would continue doing this for much longer, or any of them for that matter, but Luis is doing it now and his workrate for this league is phenomenal, stick with what you've got. They're all amazing though, let's be honest, I'd take any of them.

Imagine a front three of:

Ronaldo-----Suarez-----Messi

Messi will, yes. A lot of ronaldo's game is based on pace and power, which will start to wane soon. The frightening thing with Messi is that he's 26, he might not even be in his peak yet. I'd suggest Ronaldo may be at his or gone over, he's 28 and will be 29 soon.

I really worry about Messi being bogged down by injuries, but people writing him off now are doing so prematurely. He's the best player ever.

Also, I think Ronaldo is in such good shape that his pace and power will be there until he retires.

Ronaldo and Messi are two of the best players ever (pains me to say that because I hate the greasy twat), so yeah I'd swap him for them. Let's see if Suarez can do it over a longer period. However, he's the best player in the world right now.

Rosco's head is going to explode when he sees your post.

Argentina have as close as anyone gets to this:

Aguero --- Higuain --- Messi

Yup.

I agree with Hal - Ronaldo is such a phenomenal athlete you'd have to bet on him continuing for another four years or so.

To say Messi who has produced one of the greatest careers ever, while averaging nearly a goal a game has his peak ahead of him is one of the stupidest things I've ever read. (But I did expect someone to say it, because everyone thinks most players peak at 28-30)

And now that it looks like Barca aren't using PEDs it'll be interesting to see how he fares

It ain't broke. Don't "fix" it.

No.

Agreed.

Using that logic I'd have Suarez first, Ronaldo second (as he's played in the premiership and succeeded), and Messi last.

I still think Messi is the best of the lot, but many players have changed league / clubs and have not been able to replicate their old form, so I'd have to be risk adverse and stick to the player we know can perform in our team.

I would not swap him.
Not for either.
Hes a phenomenon. Neither is sufficiently better to warrant swapping.

If I was a Barca or Madrid fan, maybe I would say yes ... but the guy has given us so many fucking incredible moments of genius that I am hoping he stays with us until he ends his career. This guy is one of the greatest talents to ever wear the shirt.

Ronaldo and Messi are phenomenal players whereas Suarez is world class. So anyone with brains will agree to swap plus pay extra money .

I'm just a little surprised that Suarez didn't feature more in the Ballon D'or voting.
I wasn't expecting him to feature heavily as the number one vote as such, but I thought more of the voters would have him possibly as second or third. Just shows the necessity of Champions League football in order just to get you in among the players that are considered to be the greatest - even though we can all clearly see that isn't a requisite.
It's the kind of information that makes you see that a top four finish is critical for keeping and signing great players.
