Remember he said he was as good as Michael Owen but didn't get the chances Owen did? Morrison went on to fluff a simple chance in front of the Kop the day after that interview. Good times.

All in the link my good man, all in the link.

Ha, sorry Doc, I didn't even click the link. How lovely that we both wanted to share the same Clinton Morrison jibe.

I'm getting worried about this game now, Exeter have enough decent players (despite their own injuries) to cause our hugely inexperienced team problems. Clinton Morrison is shite these days and ordinarily it would be daft of them to play him but his experience against very inexperienced CB's could prove vital.

If they play a front 6 of...................

Holmes (tricky winger)
Noble (vastly experienced CM)
Butterfield (vastly experienced defender who can play DM)
Nicholls (very good Coutinho-type)

Morrison (vastly experienced lump)
Nichols (talented young forward)

They will cause us problems.

I see no reason why Benteke shouldn't start as he hasn't played 90 minutes too often recently. If we play the kids and Benteke up front and maybe Joe Allen in midfield we should just have enough to beat them. They are dodgy at the back but that's why (if they are clever about it) they should play Butterfield and Noble in CM.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Kent tonight and hope I'm right in thinking he might take this opportunity to show Klopp what he's got.

He actually said that?

That's really cheered me up. Brilliant!

How come Harry Wilson isn't being mentioned as a possibilty to play tonight? I notice he played for the U-21's on Tuesday (as did Stewart, Enrique and Flanagan) and he scored one and made one.

Wilson............Kent...............Ojo all playing behind Benteke would be very interesting.

The team we fielded against Exeter in the Milk Cup in 1981 ... Read it and weep ... uncontrollably ...

Ahem... 😀
Not sure why we'd want to develop him any further with Ward as his agent - we know this will just end horribly. I'd rather we played Dunn - if he's ever fit - or Wilson. Kent and Wilson formed a great partnership in the U18s in one season, and my impression is that Wilson is more of a poacher and finisher than a winger provider, despite him being used predominantly out wide for the U21s.

I'd ask Klopp to take the weekend off and have Inglethorpe manage this team for this game. 🙂

--------------- Bogdan ----------------
Randall -- Ilori -- Whelan -- Smith
------------ Lucas -- Allen ------------
-------------- Brannagan -------------
Kent --------- Wilson ------ Teixeira

There was a mention in an article that Benteke was carrying an Achilles injury. Given that he's our only fit striker left, and it was an Achilles tendon rupture (not sure if on the same side) that set him out for 6 months back in 2014 that caused him to miss the World Cup, I think the concern about playing him is understandable.

Liverpool team to face Exeter: Bogdan, Randall, Ilori, Enrique, Smith, Teixeira, Brannagan, Stewart, Kent, Sinclair, Benteke.

17 year old Conor Masterson on the bench. Isnt he supposed to be the next big thing?
