Haha Soz - I'm off to do something more important like retrieve the TV aerial that's been blown off my roof by this gale force wind. I fear a Rod Hull moment coming. Wish me luck 😉

Oh I am not telling you off... far from it infact... (you will figure it out)

Good luck with the Aerial..

I've always enjoyed watching Exeter under Paul Tisdale as they like to try and play their football on the ground. They are a lot less physical than most teams in the lower leagues and this can count against them. Last season's Exeter team would have caused us a few problems because of our defensive problems but they sold their best midfielder (Sercombe) and their second best (Harley) is out injured. Added to that Wheeler (another of their better players) is also out. They don't have a very tall team so playing Lucas at CB wouldn't be too much of a problem.

They have a good young forward Tom Nicholls who needs watching and a Coutinho-type in Alex Nicholls but aside from these 2 they shouldn't cause us any problems. They also have Clinton Morrison but he is no threat and probably won't start anyway.

I'd accept the fact they'll probably score but we should just make sure we have enough firepower to blow them away....................

Aston Villa boss Remi Garde has confirmed that on-loan defender Tiago Ilori has returned to Liverpool.
Sky sources reported on Thursday that the injury-hit Reds were considering asking Villa to bring Ilori's season-long loan deal to an early close.
Jurgen Klopp's side are currently without Mamadou Sakho, Martin Skrtel, Dejan Lovren and Kolo Toure - all four of their recognised central defenders

We are 11-10 minus one goal on the handicap.
What do ya reckon?
Lump job?

Any chance of Sinclair getting the nod vs Exeter? Seems tailor made for him to get a run out.

Not sure why we'd want to develop him any further with Ward as his agent - we know this will just end horribly. I'd rather we played Dunn - if he's ever fit - or Wilson. Kent and Wilson formed a great partnership in the U18s in one season, and my impression is that Wilson is more of a poacher and finisher than a winger provider, despite him being used predominantly out wide for the U21s.

I'd ask Klopp to take the weekend off and have Inglethorpe manage this team for this game. 🙂

--------------- Bogdan ----------------
Randall -- Ilori -- Whelan -- Smith
------------ Lucas -- Allen ------------
-------------- Brannagan -------------
Kent --------- Wilson ------ Teixeira

Maybe throw Chirivella in there instead of Lucas too. 🙂

Could be worth it Leo. They've been on a bad run recently and an early goal for us should open the floodgates. I'll wait until I see the confirmed team news tomorrow night before making a decision.

Oh right - I suspect a bit of mod meddling! Took one look out side and decided I can do without TV for the day. There's a fucking hurricane going on where I am! Balls to getting up a ladder in that weather. Best crack on with some writing then.

Swap Ibe & Lallana around and I'm with you.

I cannot understand how anyone could not watch that Stoke match and appreciate what Lucas brings the club. He shouldn't be first choice any more, certainly not if we want to be competing at the very top, but as a squad option he provides a lot to to this club. As ever, all common sense goes out the window when it comes to Lucas Leiva and the result is it bores everyone to tears. The amount of people on here who hold a rational view towards this player can be counted on one hand, or possibly one finger. It's mind-boggling.
Fair play Squiggs and I didn't even watch the Stoke game why my tongue in cheeck comment was based on the other +100 games I've seen of his and apart from the odd game here and there I have been continuously underwhelmed/frustrated.

He adds less than nothing going forward, he often passes sideways and he has not got one real attribute
(apart from being and honest hardworking lad) that makes him stand-out in any way. His defensive game is his best area of course and he is decent in most aspects there (apart from in the air) but nothing more and overall he's not anywhere near good enough imo to hold down a spot let alone be in the squad of a team aiming for the top.

That is not his fault mind that's down to the club and the managers that have kept him around for far too long.

I am simply baffled why he is still a LFC player but maybe he adds something I simply can't see no matter how hard I look.

Arn can say some outlandish shit, but damn, decent posters turn into dicks real quick and some are just habitual dicks.

Arn became the monster they wanted.

It'll be you or KHL next. They hate the scandos on here.

Probably Hansern's turn actually.

I'll start a thread about Markovic having World class potential, and that we should switch to a 3-5-2 with him as libero. His natural position.
The new Serbian Franz "Der Kaiser" Beckenbauer.

Arn will soon be forgotten.

DO IT DO IT DO IT

Why do people think Benteke won't start? He came off the bench against Stoke so will be fresh and this could be a game for him to find his shooting boots before Arsenal and United

Name a better defensive midfielder than him in the league. Not central midfielder. It is a big difference between a DM and a CM.

Isn't it also very strange that when Lucas played as a central defender then our attacking play also got better?

OK: Gareth Barry, Kante, Schneiderlin, Dier, Noble, Coquelin, Besic, Matic, Fernandinho, Wanyama.

Khl already went through that bullshit.
He came out on top though.
Personally I like to get dirty from time to time.
Hansern is a weak ass Scando.

Edit, sorry been on worldstar for too long.

Norwegians vs Swedes? We're deffo not the weak ones 😉

Klopp said he'll play a very young side.

I'd go:

Ming
Randall Ilori Lucas Smith
Allen Brannagan
Kent Teixeira Ojo
Benteke

Just looked at the lineup I had jotted down for this game. Its exactly the same, except I had Bogdan in goal. I think you're right - Mignolet would be better.

We can't afford not to do well in the FA Cup. So I hope we don't just play kids. We can afford to have several pacy kids on the bench, and maybe give Kent or Ojo a start, but most of them don't even know yet how Klopp wants them to play. You can't just bung on several kids who've just come back from loan deals. Who do you think we are - a top four side that's doing really well? Patch up as many senior pros as possible, try to win the game in the first half and then have some fun. Don't go down the Hodge v Northampton route, purlease! I've no desire to see my team made a laughing stock on prime time tv.
