We should have wrapped this transfer up ages ago.

They agreed 6.7m with Swansea. They then asked us for 9m!

Had we paid the 9m the owners & Rodgers would have been destroyed on here for being shafted. So they're playing hardball & negotiating it down.

They cant win it seems.

He's been away on holiday, and Rodgers apperantly didnt want to do anything until Swanse had installed a new manager

A player being on holiday makes fuck all difference, the deal can still be done and in today's world, it's not too difficult to fly him over to Liverpool for medical etc before he returns to his holiday.

It was reduced because Swansea paid Hoffenheim a loan fee. Don't think they paid £2.3 Million, though.

Why the hysterics already? Because United have signed someone? No one knows what's going on, it's June for fucks sake. There's holidays, the Euro's (staff being away), discussions and the actual solid evidence that is Rodger's own comments regards not moving for him until it was clear Swansea were out the picture. I don't know why people are getting so fucking uppity, again, the same trigger happy NOW, NOW, NOW posters will be the same ones slating the lad after two weeks of the season.

Go and cook a microwave meal. Or better still, a pot noodle (no offense Skully).

Yep, I think that's what brought the fee down, though let's be honest, as soon as we become involved, clubs automatically put the price up, and we usually end up paying it too, as we well know.

If you're referring to me that's bullshit Mark. I'm simply wondering why it hasn't been wrapped up given it's likely he'll want to play for Rodgers again and reports today that Spurs have serious interest. I was intimating that the player might have had his head turned rather than anything we're doing wrong. I also made clear that none of us know what's going on.

As for the "slating the lad after two weeks" bollocks. Well, it's bollocks.

I wouldn't be that arsed if he did go somewhere else. A decent prospect before we showed an interest, wailing an gnashing of teeth as if we missed out on Messi if he doesn't sign.

There is absolutely nothing stopping the clubs agreeing a fee and the player agreeing terms outside the transfer window.

It won't be rubber stamped by the FA though.

So he'd rather join Spurs with no manager than Liverpool with his former manager?
I think it's bull.

No, but this is how it works. We miss out and talk for page after page about what could have been.
