Pre Match Pre Match - Girona (A) - Tues 5:45

It's that he's played every minute. Last season is enough for us to know that you can't do that, and Endo would have been fine against a side who are ninth in a shit league and in a group and tournament we've dominated in the middle of a zillion games, with hardly any backup at CDM. Good job we'll have it won in March, otherwise April will look bad.

Considering we needed a point last night to night on guarantee top 8, I don't overly enjoy the lack of rotation. I thought slot would maximise the use of his squad. Perhaps it's a learning experience for him and the final lesson will be gravy injured

Don't panic, Santa's bringing a big bag of ventolin

Yay. With three renewals, some Spanish dude who will hit the ground running while Salah shares the formula for the magic research chemical that currently goes untraced, aka the elixir of life.

I very much hate the fact our own fans are doing "he's shite" compilations within minutes of the final whistle

Do we not have any fucking shame?
Especially when he was probably the pick of the forwards (on another day his 1 on 1 shot goes in, he played it exactly right - low and across goal, the keeper made a good save) but there's hardly a word on here said on Mo. (a complete non-entity in this game), Diaz (hardly created anything whatsoever in an attacking context, Jones who fucked up every attack he 'starred' in and Szobo who was ... God only knows what but totally ineffective (despite running more than anyone). Yet they hardly get a negative mention, basically a shrug of the shoulders.

I've stated that I think Nunez's time here is up now, no matter how much I really wanted him to shove it down his detractors' throats. He isn't on the same wave-length and I doubt he ever will be, and he doesn't score enough, but he's someone who gives his all every game, running his bollocks off in defence and attack. I just don't think what he offers (and he does offer a lot) is suited to Slot and LFC.

He missed 2 semi-difficult one on ones. The rest was bad. A free header where he could watch it went the opposite direction, he got in Jones’ way during a 4 on 3 break which Jones fucked up anyway and all round play wasn’t on the same wavelength. Despite Mo noshing him off this week there was a chance where Mo could’ve passed to him but decided against it and took on an impossible shot.
He was clearly trying to head it into the feet of Jones + Szobo ?), he mistimed it by an inch or two, as do many every week. It most certainly was not in the opposite direction!

He didn't get in Jones' way - Jones' did what he often does, was far far too slow in releasing the ball (and then he fucked that up).

The lad is being run into the ground. Got the full game last night when he didn’t need to do it.

This exactly one of Klopp’s faults and we’ve seen it where we start running out of energy in the latter parts of the season.
Exactly. The 4 days interim isn't the issue, it's the accumulative effect over a full season of challenging for every trophy (PL, CL, FAC & LC).

I think we will get the mountain goat fucker from Northern Spain.
I actually hope so - not that I've watched a lot of him but he is very highly rated by many, so hopefully he's at Macca's level (for example) and will be an absolute boon to our trophy challenges on 4 fronts, without a major drop off in class when we rotate or sub players on.

We have one of the best fitness teams around now and they are all closely monitored, so that won't happen. He also only played 1800 mins last season, which is 20 games a 90 mins. Its no problem at all playing him for 90 mins in yesterdays game.

1 weeks rest before the game and 4 days after. Most likely rotated in the league cup. No issue whatsoever.

We won't get zubi. City will come in and probably snaffle him up.
Going back to the 130 (ex-115) if they have been warned of the impending penalties (relegation) they may not want to be (over)spending until the decision/punishment is doled out. That threat may also be a major deterrent to someone considering going there.

Accumulative.

What happens if the 'best fitness team around' decides that he's too tired to play against Arsenal at Anfield or away at City or versus Barcelona in the CL semis? He'll get played anyway and then either get injured or play shite. If we want to keep our players at peak performance levels then they need regular rest - not just when they are knackered.

That would be very weird given its 4 days to the game.

It would be very interesting to see the distances our midfielders ran on avg last season compared to this season.
I have a feeling that Gravy isn't doing as much running as he or the starters did last season.

I hate compilation videos anyway. Where's the context? Short form diminishes everything, I'm just pissed off it took an addiction to twitter to make me realise. The fact of the matter is Darwin is shite, and the evidence is every game he plays he gets worse. I was one of the only people happy when he scored that chip over the keeper a year or more ago, because it showed he can have a think and use technique. Every shot he does now is a simple blast straight into the keepers face, like 90% of children do. It's ridiculous at this point. If there aren't any takers then use him on the wing because he's no natural goalscorer and never will be.

When all of our greats got the ball in the box time slowed down and space became a relative thing, opening up in tiny gaps. This guy is the opposite. Everything speeds up and condences. And then the flag goes up.

I can see a transfer ban alongside any other type of punishment, so they may do a chelsea and have a flurry of activity to set themselves up for a bit. Players will always move for money, so i don't see that being an issue too much

Slot will want 8/8 wins and to be no1. 100%

We're not yet mathematically guaranteed top 8. Need Arsenal to draw with Monaco and Lille to fail to win tonight for that to be the case; otherwise we will need a point from the home game vs Lille to guarantee it.

This is like saying Norris had a chance to overhaul Verstappen.

As if everyone below us will get all six points, we can lose both games. I'm not suggesting we throw them but we can use the squad much better.
Maybe the thought is also there that a win equals £2m and a draw £1/2m. Two easy(ish) matches (Lille and PSV) could mean another £4m banked.

N.B. Barca and Dortmund could both make 21 points.

If it's over a few mil, then thats a shame, as that money won't be used to sign players in jan.

They aren’t THAT closely monitored when you look back at the Newcastle game. The guy couldn’t hit top speed. How few minutes he played last season has zero impact on how he is playing in December when he’s in our top 3 of total minutes played this season. The fact that our 3 most important players this season have all had the most minutes and did the full 90 last night is something to be worried about.

He may get a rest against Southampton but then it’s straight into 3 games over Christmas, even 4 when you add in Man U before he would get another rest against Accrington Stanley.

I think you mean we can rest players against United for Accrington Stanley xD
