Samuel Eto'o would find it hard to turn down an offer that would see his personal earnings increase dramatically but he is not actively looking to leave Barcelona, his agent has confirmed.

The Cameroon striker has been the subject of intense speculation this summer and on Monday morning his representative, Josep Maria Mestalles, held talks with the Blaugrana technical secretary, Txiki Begiristain.

While Manchester City and Inter Milan, among others, are reported to be awaiting developments, Mestalles explained that Eto'o is happy although any major offer would have to be considered.

"We want to stay with Barca, but if a crazy offer comes in and equals the buy-out clause, then the player would earn a lot," he told Sport.

"If before they were offering €5 million and now they offer €15 million, nobody is stupid.

"The player is not going to look to go. He likes it here and there is no better place to live than in Barcelona, but if someone comes in with an offer that improves his salary..."

In Italy there have been reports that Eto'o could be involved in a swap deal with Inter's Zlatan Ibrahimovic worth around €80 million and Mestalles is ruling nothing out.

"We are happy with the club, the relationship is good, but we cannot rule out any possibility," he continued.

"Just like we know, he has a contract and he is a great player.

"Txiki did not say that Pep (Guardiola) does not want him. He has a contract and he wants to stay, but the difference between this year and last year is that they have not said they do not want him.

"The market is better than last year and there are clubs that are interested in him, but we cannot listen to them because that is prohibited.

"The fact that people want you does not mean that you have to leave where you are.

"With two Champions Leagues, three titles and a Copa del Rey along with his performances and goals he does not need to be revalued."

This is a little bit like our Alonso situation in that much of the damage was done last summer - difference is our player is a model professional by all accounts. Still, to leave such a successful side with the players they have and the football they play for money would be sad. I'd really hate to see him go to a side like City.

Why would he go to such a small club having played in Champions League for years and won a fucking treble? If he would go it would be to Milan or Juve. Rafael have not shown any interest in him, so i am little disappointed in this. We can forget about him.

he's got used to winning and wants a new challenge. man city it is, if he can help them to the champions league and a title challenge in a few years he'll go down as an all time great.

clearly the main problem is giving up living in barcelona rather than giving up playing for barcelona.

What?? ??

Gave up living in Barcelona?? WHAT??

You need a tight slap for that kind of comment.

Every player wants a new challenge if they have won everything they could have won but to play for Citeh? Fucking hell! Its purely money if he chooses to go there. He's no Maradona. Yeah he can get a few more points for them but that's it. He is surrounded by lesser players.

He has been with Barca for almost 5 years now and currently now he has issue with Guardiola and got nothing to do with giving up living in Barca. Why would anyone gave up living in Barca you sap!

Rafa have not shown any interest in him because the only interest we have to worry about is the 30 fucking million pounds we need to cover the yank's debts

If he was to go to Citeh, he can rule himself out of playing champions league football for at least another 2-3years.

Is Arsenal continue to be as shite as they have been reecently, and City do manage to get 1 or 2 real quality players in, then they can push them next season. Obvioulsy there is the whole who will they buy and will they settle etc, but if they do buy some decent premm proven players they 'might' do it

Im expecting Arsenal to be strong next season. They have lots of quality attacking options and will wish for better luck on the injury front this time round. They are in a similar situation to us - needing a couple of top players in key positions then they could well be contenders again.

I can't see he top 4 changing at all next season, especially seeing as all he arse need are a couple of enforcers, which are much cheaper to come by than attacking talent.

Citeh will also be hindered by Hughes at the healm.

I'm gonna lay my head on the block here, but Man Shitey won't sign any top class players this summer.

A lot of players will use them to negotiate better contracts.

I don't actually think they care who they sign or whether he fits into their system in any shape or form, they just have to sign some big statement player.

Which will probably lead to them paying ridiculously over the odds.
