Different Gravy

I’m back in the Uk now, but lived in KL for almost 4 years until end of ‘21. I miss Malaysia and SE Asia…
Oh Oh Malaysia !!!! - I love that country so so much - I wish I was born a Malaysian I love it so much !!! The food The food - I get so hungry just thinking about the food. What the f*ck are you doing back here ?

We replace Endo with a top quality double-pivot type deep-lying ball player and that player gets in the team when he plays better than Gravy.

As it should be.

That's also what I feel our midfield needs.

Penang one, I assume local chain but first time I have been to one. Huge menu for food, no idea how they cater for all optionsz
Is a massive menu not meant to be a red flag? As in "it's impossible to keep all these ingredients fresh" red flag or "everything's frozen" red flag?

That's what I was told anyway.

Yes unless :

- you look in the kitchen and it's just one ugly there, smoking cigarettes standing over a wok with a jet engine below.

- There's an an army of dark skinned fellas taking orders who look like they are 15, but are fluent in every Asian language, and have mensa level math skills

- There's a very grumpy old lady at a table in the corner counting coins and sneering at the customers, and no one dares to talk to her.

- lots of old gents in rolexes and sandals

These are the marks of a good Malaysian restaurant

Ah, don’t get me started on Malaysian food…

…I had to come back to the Uk at the time as fell very ill there and ended up in icu / hospital for weeks then very depleted when home. I was diagnosed with a rare blood disorder that could be managed better in London specialist centre. I still have it and take far too many meds (and carry far too much risk), but much better all things considered. I’m currently moving out of London to Devon for cleaner air and a slower pace of life.

Where in Devon? We have an apartment in Kensal Rise (daughter stays there) we stay in when back in Europe. We spent a week in Cornwall and Devon last month. Polperro was just awesome.

Lovely country and people. I've been there more than 10 times : Langkawi, Penang, KL, Taman Nagara and x7 to Sabah (diving and for wildlife and bird photography). Very cool place.
It’s the best place I’ve lived by a mile, my kids especially loved it. In the two and a half years we’ve been back in the Uk my boys have been back to Malaysia / SE Asia about twelve times between them!

We’d still be there if events hadn’t taken over.

Just outside kingsbridge…I’m renting a month whilst a purchase goes through. I work from home so will build a garden office and sit in my own space.

We have a place in v rural coastal Cornwall (my 3 kids grew up there prior to Malaysia) but feels a little too far from some London based work nowadays.

Hope all good mate.
Have you tried Roti King chain in UK? it's decent and priced well. I go to Malaysia often so I get my fix but I'm not Malaysian

It defo is normally in West but in South East Asia and Sub Continent seems to be well catered for from my own experience. Just as a consumer, can be harder to choose.

Before I feel like eating both @Frogfish and @Buddha , as they talk about Malaysia, just want to ask the question...do you all think Gravey is happy playing that new role ? I mean no player wants to be a DM/DM Controller...its a shit job role. Also why does he never look happy ? He seems to put on a forced smile plus when not smiling he looks like he wants to just chill put and sleep.

Hope all good mate.

Hoppers is fab and I think there are 4 of them now, proper Srilanken food and the Cocktails based on Arak are unique.

I've been dreaming of good kottu since I was last in Sri Lanka 10 years ago, I'll have to head there next time I'm in london

It’s so good, I have a client family in Sri Lanka so have eaten it there but have to say there’s a place in KL (that heady mix of Indian / Sri Lankan Malay) that I’d eat at twice a week and have the best Kothu Parotta Mutton known to man.

Ps - it was known locally as Daddy’s kitchen (in Sri Hartamas if anyone’s heading that way)

After a difficult first season on Merseyside, the 22-year-old has outlined the reason behind his current form is all down to Slot.

"He gives me confidence now. He just lets me start in the lineup. It's going pretty well.

"As a player, you obviously want to get minutes. For me, that confidence is part of it. With that confidence, I feel more comfortable, and with the minutes, it keeps getting better.

"He's a good coach. He knows what he wants. He has a clear plan. Yeah, so far, we're executing it really well. Clarity from the start is always nice for me," Gravenberch told ESPN Netherlands.

One false move and Hank Schrader will fuck him off for the Ninja.

I love Klopp - but that lovely saying he had "Turning Doubters into Believers" - well, I also had one for his treatment of midfield talent:

"Turning Midfielders into Donkeys"

Honestly he runs them into the ground till they have no legs. But we all fucking lapped it up coz it was heavy metal !!!!

We lapped it up because he was the best manager we had in 4 decades and rebuilt an absolute shite team into PL,CL, and world champions. And his midfield was a massive part of that・

Must be a coping mechanism.

Like telling your mates that your ex was shite in bed.
TRUST ME IT IS a coping mrchanism. The reality is hitting me after each game when there are no fist pumps etc. I agree 100% with the response from @juniormember , but at the same time I am fully aware of his managerial flaws while he was in charge. Its nothing new and we all argued about at the times when things were not so good.

Every manager has flaws. But the fact is klopp won us the league(with ease) and the CL. We could have have two league titles if it wasn't for a ridiculously insane city team that season. So whether he ran them into the ground or not it worked. Yes slott has had a great start, but i think its too soon for people to be banging one out over him. His style of play is still new to the other teams in the league. We'll see how good we are doing after 15-20 games when teams start adjusting to our new style.
