Borini's shit

That's right. That's not what you said though, is it? You said that if they didn't get off their arse, we wouldn't have been rid of the owners. That's total nonsense.

It was the financial situation which forced them to leave. It certainly wasn't SOS.

It was supporters harassing banks and sponsors who were ready to loan them new money that helped.

Yeah, nothing to do with the loan period expiring, them forcing in place a new chairman with a view to selling the club and having it sold from under them.

The banks, who actually extended the loan, and who are worth many billions, were just the puppets of a few lads from SOS.

If H & G could have secured funding elsewhere to pay off the RBS loan then RBS and Broughton would have been powerless.

I didn't say it was solely down to fan pressure. Why did Hicks refer to the "Internet terrorists"? They played a part like it or not.

I'm not sure that it was. Banks don't tend to make business decisions based upon the views of football supporters.

Ah, 'like it or not'. How can you possibly argue with that. Jesus.

If you're going to use quotes, they require a little context. He claimed internet terrorism drove away potential buyers, not drove him away.

Of course, this is my whole point. If they could have secured funding, they'd not have been forced out by the banks. It was quite clearly the lack of financial power that drove the from the club, not a few posters and chants by SOS.

Roy's performance is entirely relevant. You yourself made it so when you drew the comparison between him and Kenny in your own post.

I actually agree it'll take us a while to challenge for the title again. That's rather different from the stuff about "serious long-term damage" which you were coming out with before.

No it isn't, Jules. My point is quite straight-forward and simple and you're complicating it needlessly. I'm solely talking about the signings and the state of the squad when they left. £20M Downing is trying to be converted into a make-shift LB. £35M Andy Carroll is out on loan at West Ham. Jordan Henderson we were trying to offer to Fulham in a swap-deal. Getting rid of them will be hard enough, but worse more, the Americans aren't seemingly prepared to invest big again. It was a huge opportunity that was given to the wrong man, and it's cost the club big time.

Nobody's doubting the fact that clear mistakes were made. We're just going to have to agree to differ about whether mistakes which, by your own account, will probably be put right in "a couple of transfer windows" can accurately be said to have done "serious long-term damage".

I don't think SOS were as effective as they'd like to think but supporters did have a hand in preventing the owners gaining that funding. Any organisation willing to even consider lending were subjected to all kind of email attacks.

I'm not being funny, like, but businesses don't lend or not lend on the basis of emails. Plus, that wasn't just SOS.

I'd go for somewhere between 'none' and 'almost none' on the level of impact SOS had on getting them out. Closer to none. Credit to them for trying, and all that, but their level of impact was really low.

And if you believe it was SOS that prevented them from doing that then, the answer to the question you asked me last night is in the affirmative.

So yeah, borini ain't shit

True story. He's a really bright prospect, has only just turned 21 a few months back, and has incredibly impressive movement around the box. He'll need a few games, but he'll be an important player.

No, he certainly is not shit. Whether he is currently ready or suitable to fill the role that we desperately need him to fill is open to debate, but we will find out soon enough!

Have sobered up now, heads still wrecked though. Can't believe we didnt pick up a striker.

Hope to fuck I'm wrong on Borini but early signs aren't good in my eyes.

We need to wrap Suarez in cotton wool or we could be proper fooked

I reckon Borini is a potentially excellent striker with A1 movement. It's my one beef with Rodgers at the moment, his potential is wasted on the right.

I think he's pampering Suarez a bit at the minute to keep him on side, I'm sure that's what he'd prefer to do, it's obviously a more sensible approach.

Did I mention SOS ? And you clearly didn't read my following post dimwit.
