I don't think the loss is a disaster. Our main two players had an off day that's all

We are a one trick pony and if our strikers have a mare we will probably lose.

Midfield need to score more.

Need Enrique and Johnson back fast.

I don't think a team is exactly a one trick pony if it has Suarez and Sturridge in the side, and Coutinho, too. And any team will lose if both of their strikers have a mare - imagine the mancs if Rooney and RVP were off form.

Yep and Ozil was crap yesterday, their midfield ticked because of Ramsey and Arteta. Someone needed to smash one of them hard and see if they fancied a physical battle. Cos once they dictated the midfield with their fancy dan stuff, they should have been tested with some proper physicality.

Credit to Rodgers and Inglethorpe by the way for Flanagan's improvement. What I think we all want from coaching is palpable improvement in players and Flanno's a good example. His control has improved hugely, and his attacking play has improved, too. Yes, he's still a limited player and he made a mistake yesterday but he's clearly been helped by the coaches, and that, spread across the club, is a very good thing.

Tbf to Flanagan, he looked a more than capable player when Dalglish threw him and Robinson into the side two years ago. It was only when he came back into the side again that he hit a brick wall and his form nose dived. I know you've always backed him, but some other posters on here have short selective memories when labeling him a disaster area.

Skrtelplayed well Modo

He was as bad as the others (I mean Carzola not only had a free header but time to strike the rebound) bar Cissokho who was utter bobbins (seemingly out of breath after 15 minutes). The only defender who actually looked good was Flanagan and he was the one for whom I was fearing.

The problem was compounded by how collectively ineffective the central midfield three were. I couldn't understand quite what Rodgers wanted them to do as they all offered little going forward and nothing in defending with both goals coming from free strikes at goal. The funny thing is that once Gerard pushed forward in the last 10 minutes we looked a threat (Coutinho almost scored).

Rodgers needs to decide what he wants his players to do not merely go in and see how it pans out.

How do you know that?

Hypothetically, if the whistle wasn't blown, the defenders would have closed down Sturridge, making the pass harder. if he managed to make the exact same pass, it trundled slowly past the 6 yard box, giving Szcznesy enough time to collect it, as Henderson wouldn't have run on to it because he's a shit house

I think its a bit unfair to say our strikers had a mare. They lived off scraps and constantly had to drop deep to look for the ball. We lost yesterday because Lucas and Gerrard had a mare. The pair of them contributed absolutely nothing, either in defence or attack.

Yes. Arsenal didn't even have to do much more than the simple things right. To show just what might have been, Gerrard burst into the Arsenal box in the last 10 minutes and there was absolute mayhem from which Coutinho almost scored.

This (although Henderson was also terrible).

This forum does it to every player that fucks up once Mark!

It's alarming how little we play a simple 1-2 pass.

Too many timid players in midfield. It was pass, hand over responsibility and hold your station. I couldn't just work out Gerrard's reticence until the game had been lost.

Oh, and where are the goals from midfield that Arsenal and others have in abundance?

- It must be in a Liverpool Manager's contract to sign an athletically shit S/Cissokho with a horrendous touch.

- Glenjo out, and our replacement is a guy who'd do well to get a game in the Championship to be honest. He's essentially getting plaudits for not being shite.

- Back 3 got left horrendously exposed, by...

- Gerrard, Lucas, and that pair of 'wing-backs'. The midfield two were dreadful, Gerrard especially. At least Lucas tried to provide some cover agianst the marauding runs. when he wasn't giving the ball away that was.

- Like I keep saying, in a 3-5-2 your two wing-backs have to be amazing on the ball. Our two were actually the worst two football players we had on the pitch. Mignolet is better with the ball at his feet than that Cissokho mess.

- Henderson very poor, but he's been good this season so he gets a pass.

- Had Arsenal really gone for it, they could have done us by 4.

- Coutinho back in, we'll be 4-4-2 next week.

Just watched MOTD and fuck me, Toure utterly shits out of that ramsey shot, as soon as he goes to shot he turns his back on him, afraid, and it whizzes past him, he should have charged it down. Gone down in my estimation after seeing that.

Yep, I thought exactly the same thing. Carragher, as an example, never turned his back like that.

He should never have been that free to shoot though; Lucas got drawn over to cover for the ambling Gerrard, which opened up the space in front of the back 3. Pretty poor midfield coverage really.

Shouldn't Henderson be there to cover or pick up Ramsey's run. Look at it again.

I was impressed that Sakho almost got to it - he at least tried to block it. Then again, I don't think Skittles or Agger would ahve done more than Toure on that shot. Oh well ..
