Why does Agger always get a free pass from the 6CM faithful? He's been really poor this season.

Not just on here. Any Liverpool fan you talk to seems to think Agger's the dogs bollocks.
Because he looks like the contemporary cultured centre-back that every club supposedly needs.
6 odd years he's been here. Payrise after payrise, injury after injury, no trophies after no trophies. He's in the prime of his career, is fit, and is serving up splodge.

After seeing Skrtel's total lack of respect for the shirt yesterday, I'd be more than willing to give Coates the nod. Sure, he's not much better, but at least he fucking tries to defend. He's still young and he can come good, with some proper coaching. Hopefully from Carra.
Phew! That's a relief.... silly me thinking it's a transition season with new manager, new players and new ideas. Next season FTW!

No-one's saying it's all Agger's fault, just like no-one is saying it's all Skrtel's fault. When someone criticises a player, they're not pinning the world's ills on them. Agger was shite on saturday, just like Skrtel was shite, and it's hardly the first time for either of them this season. Agger may have been part of the team that did all the stuff you've written above, but that doesn't mean he should be guaranteed a place in the team if he's playing gash. Which he is.

You seem well blinkered by your new found 'dislike' of cultured defenders. I know you rate Skrtel as the better defender of the two why your silence with regards to his poor attitude and awful run of games is what to be expected. What is not to be expected is that shower of weak arguments to explain why a player like Agger shouldn't be in our team.
Anywyas we've just enoyed the best run of the Season and yet, after one game where everyone was awful to poor to average, you start all over again with the Agger bashing.
Let me please lead your attention to the following.
Skrtel didn't play in any of those games of late where we've looked the best all Season. He did play against Southampton however and he was awful and involved in all three of their goals.
Allen haven't played in the holding midfield position in any of those game of late we've looked our best all Season. He did however play in that role against Southampton and he was back to his worst. Offering no cover what so ever, loosing balls all over the pitch and generally looking clueless.
Perhaps, just perhaps, at least consider it, it's not Agger, despite all his flair and lack of defensive attributes that's the reason why we suddenly looked all weak again.
PS Agger's been with us for seven years and hopefully he'll be here for seven more.
Yeah but agger has been fit all season, its now apparent allen has had a shoulder injury for 5 months (weirdly coinciding with his drop in form)
Agger has had good spells but awful ones too. Allen has had an excuse or two. New team, none stop playing for 2 years, and an injury.

Agger has had his most average Season with us so far, I don't disagree with that at all. Of late however he has looked much improved as has the team in general.
He wasn't playing well against Southampton either mind but as he wasn't directly involved in any of their goals it wasn't upthere with say his Stoke game in terms of weakness.
Allen was alongside Skrtel by far our weakest players, and whether that's down to one feeling left our unfairly and the other playing with a broken arm, I don't know and frankly don't care either. They were awful. The rest is excuses.
I doubt it, because most people don't take it so personally when players they generally rate have bad games.
Agger is a decent player. No World beater, but certainly good enough most of the time. I don't think we should sell him but nor do I think he is an automatic starter either.
That's countless times this season that Agger and Skrtel got there arses handed to them by a big lump of a striker.

Our football and approach is much more positive and good to watch.
Yes we still have glaring weaknesses and Rodgers still has to prove his worth when it comes to organising the defence but lets wait and see who he brings in this summer before we judge him on that.
Oh and this season, we had to do without Bellamy, Maxi, Kuyt and Carroll - say what you want about the likes of Kuyt and Carroll but they still contributed last season.
