It appears that our friendly neighbourhood Big Nose has fallen from favour, recently.

Is he no longer The Messiah ?

Is it a "dip in from" ?

Is he fucking rubbish ?

Is he simply " a big (something something) of cunt" ?

What hath COS (Cult Of Shelvey) to say on the matter ?

Big dip in confidence.

It's happened to a lot of players. He's got talent, he'll have a big part to play at this club if he can relax a bit and learn to cut out the silly yellow cards and wild shots.

He'll be fine though, but just cos I don't wanna feel left out I might as well go ahead and call him a cunt as well without using any form of rational judgement.

I've said it for years; he's fucking crap.

One of these cunts that looks comfortbale with a ball at his feet, kinda looks like he should be a player, and I bet you he's amazing in training.

But, his a lazy fucking shite who spends far too much time believeing his own fucking hype. He's got no real position. He's utterly awful at finding space or creating room for himself. He can't lose defenders. He doesn't track back. He doesn't run games.

I'm sick of him. He's completely wank.
 
Still trying to make my mind up on him. I maintain it's too early to write him off, but I do agree with you on the areas of his game he needs to improve. The issue is I can't see sustained progression in him. Definitely needs to go out on loan.

This. Been saying this for ages. He's a championship quality player only. He should be no where near our first team
 
Just hope it's a dip in form maybe the coutinho signing was gutting for him?

So lets sell him to Charlton where he'll be shit hot then sign him a year later at a loss..!
 
His best position is imagine the number 10 role. I'm being polite there too, his best position is on a fucking building site the useless cunt.

Well he's behind Suarez, Gerrard, Henderson, Coutinho, Allen, maybe Suso, and whomever else we can afford to sign this summer for that role. So we must as well tell him to fuck away off.
 
By the way, I'm in an airport lounge and my flight has been delayed by 6 hours so I'm rightly fucked off with the world. Poor Jonjo the tinker is getting the brunt of it.
 
He needs to go out on loan and play consistently for a season.

Then we can take the decision to keep / sell him based on his progress.
 
Nothing's happened to Suso. He's just out of favour for no reason in particular.
 
I can't see him becoming a top player. I reckon he'll have a "successful" career at a top-end-of-the-Championship-club or bottom-end-of-the-EPL club.
 
Fucking hell he only 20 give the fecker a chance - it also doesn't help when the crowd are on his back before he comes on! You lot seem to think players develop in a linear way when its always more up and down than that. I didn't see him do too much wrong last night. He needs games and so a loan spell next year is a very good shout
 
I'm not writing him off yet but like I said before, it was borderline madness by Rodgers to bring on an out of form player like Shelvey in this type of game.
I do agree with Ryan though. At times he seems very lazy and his tackles...horrible.
 
His confidence isn't the highest at the moment; I think like Henderson, he just needs to have a few good games in a row to build himself back. Doesn't mean he should be getting starter's minutes in a row now; it just means he needs to perform well when he's next put on the pitch, and string a few of those good outings together.

Shelvey was our leading scorer in the Europa League this season (4 goals and 1 assist in 9 games); he's played a big part in us even getting to play Zenit. I have patience for him to develop; just don't know if he'll get the opportunities because of the competition with his fellow young peers. Maybe a full season out on loan with a Premier League side will do him some good. It's him or Suso going out on loan, with the other kept on as a backup/sub in games.

Not sure about lazy - I think he just isn't as sharp as he was earlier this season; he was pretty sharp to react to the defender's error last night though and latch onto the chance for his shot.

Agreed on his tackling though, he really needs to stay on his feet a lot more. Terrible tackler and if he keeps this up, he'll really hurt someone one of these days.
 
Funny enough it seems that Henderson's and Shelvey's form seem to directly mirror each other.

Which is good enough reason to have a bit of indulgence with the lad, rather than calling him a cunt while creaming over another young struggling midfielder.

I wouldn't bother mate, Modo has an issue in general with all things English. If you haven't got an exotic name and you can't do the odd flick (or you're not Daniel Agger), it's not worth bothering.

Doesn't the term "mirror" refer to a faithful reflection / depiction, meaning that if A mirrors B, then A resembles B?
I know that the mirror image is laterally inverted, but I'm not sure if we use the term "mirror" to imply opposites. Or have I been learning the wrong thing all this while?

Get your facts straight, I have never once called Shelvey a cunt, or been particularly negative about him.
