on the left yossi isn't all that.

4231 with gerrard next to masch. riera, yossi and kuyt behind torres is our best line up but we've yet to see it. why?

you can't really even say yossi is on the left because he isn't out there nearly often enough.
If I'm being honest yossi hasn't been that good this season, if riera wasn't in the doghouse he would have started every game.

Surely Benitez is not going to willingly sell another player when there's no guarantee anymore that he'll get the proceeds to spend.

He's pretty stupid if he is.

I can't think of any logical reason as to why Riera has not been playing at all though.

Unless there is a non-footballing reason as to why he is not playing then its just possible that he is part of a deal for another player and Benitez doesn't want him picking up an injury.

If he is going I do hope it is as a part exchange of some kind though. I can just see him going and then whatever separate deal we have for a replacement falling through at the last minute

Even if Riera is being sold for a super-fucking-pele-ace player to come in, I still don't think it's a great idea - Riera needs to stay as cover as Babel is next to fucking useless, a liability.

This Riera thing is quite bizarre. Even if he did piss Rafa off for some reason or is about to be sold, we should still be using him. He's been in good form over the summer for the national side and we desperately need players in form.
