Philippe Coutinho

I hope Suso gets loaned out. I think the only thing he's missing at the moment is the experience of the pace and physicality of the game. The only way he'll learn to overcome that is by playing more and he'll struggle to do that at Liverpool.
Yup. He's got the potential to be one of the classiest players around.
He really needs game time.
It's too much to ask him to perform at the highest level every time he plays for Liverpool at the moment. Let him have his good games, his shit games, and anonymous games, and let him learn from it where the tolerance level is higher.

No, but it has been where he's played more often than not and also where he'd naturally get most opportunities as a young player coming into the senior side because central roles always seem to be tougher to break into, both because they're seen as more important and also usually better supplied by senior players.

So,

--- Lucas ---- Gerrard ---
---------- Suso ----------

Suarez --------- Coutinho
-------- Sturridge ---------

... And the reserves

-- Henderson ---- Allen --
---------- Shelvey ----------

Downing --------- Sterling
------------- Borini ----------

So, Suso probably not shown enough to get the central AM role - so that's debatable. Personally, I like the idea of signing Erikson for that role & I'm all for getting rid of Downing and getting someone else in as well.

That gives us fucking good options - and positions are very interchangeable, but more importantly bar Gerrard & Lucas - that's a midfield & forward line capable of being very good for the next decade.

All we need now is to unearth a 21 yr old Sami Hypia.

Suso is a player who if well handled will end up being a Wes Sneijder type midfielder. A loan move wouldn't be a bad idea, especially since he's signed a contract recently. He knows we have faith in him, but it would be nice to see him get some game time in the middle. I don't think he's too small to play in the middle, but certainly, he could do with getting some experience of the physical demands of that position.

Yes, and that's his big problem It's a waste of his talent playing him wide, although he's got enough tricks to catch the eye at times, and he's never going to show what makes him special playing there. As you say, he needs the chance, somewhere, to showcase his real potential.

taken from another forum, thought some of you may find it interesting....oh saw spiderneil over there as well by the way.

A Inter forum http://forzainterforums.com/showthread.php?5707-Philippe-Coutinho-Correia/page64 has a mammoth sized thread on Coutinho. A bit interesting to read reviews of his first appearance for Inter (approximately page 64).
I have skimmed through the 200-page thread, which makes a interesting read. At the beginning, Inter fans are mad happy. They're assured they've signed the next Kaka. Something that, just in a few days, turns into crazy excessive expectations. The young lad is compared to Zidane, Zico and Pelé from a bunch of Youtube clips. Coutinho still impresses in his first match, with a good eye for the game, excellent first touch on the ball and tidy passing game.
When the league debut emerges he is undeniably to lightweight, falling to the ground to often and "lacking Patos end product" (he is consistently compared with Milan's Pato). He gets less and less playing time, and in addition, he soon picks up an injury which sees him sidelined for three months.
After the injury, he's back, straight out of a Milanese spors gym, 10 pounds heavier, pure muscle.
The next indication is that he's in fact a very good player, one of the few that offers Inter little creativity. Self-confidence is not the best though, and Rafa's game clicks. What often happens, with Coutinho as their only creative player, is that he is marked out of matches.
Rafa's soon fucked off and Coutinho get less playing time. Fans are upset. Suddenly Coutinho is loaned out to Spanish Espanyol, and things start to move in the right direction. He scores five goals in something like fifteen matches. In addition to that he's voted man of the match two times. Please note that the guy just arrived at a new club, and is still only 19-20 years.
Just in time for the Coutinhos big comeback, the Inter fans learns that he most likely is for sale. This pisses them off full-time since the've waited patiently, year after year, to see him flourish in the club.
They can't believe he is for sale. Some of them wants to riot, others are tired of the whole saga and ready to get rid just to stop debating Coutinho.

I'd like to see this.

--------------------REINA--------------------
-Johnson----Skrtel---Agger---Enrique-
----------------Lucas-Gerrard-------------
-----------------Courtinghoes-------------
----Suarez-----Sturridge--Borini/Sterling

Although that front three are completely fluid

With him being really lightweight and pretty crap defensively i can't see coutinho playing anywhere apart from the front 3 in direct competition with sterling. Doubt you'd see them both on the pitch at the same time unless we were desperate for a goal.

You're just trying to soften the blow if he doesn't come.
Well I think some balance is needed since everyone here has their cocks about this guy, creating formations, editing his wiki entry and posting 'wellcome to Liverpool la' messages on his youtube entries.

Well he has said he's not coming and staying at Inter so there's no reason to think he's lying. Pus Inter have rejected our bid. Its only the british media that say he still is if we look at it in cold hard facts.

  1. INTER have reportedly set a price of €15 million for Redsl target Philippe Coutinho.

The Reds had an €8 million bid for the Brazilian rejected by the Nerazzurri last week.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Inter have told Liverpool to increase their offer significantly if they wish to land the 20-year-old midfielder.

Coutinho was bought by Inter for €4 million as a 16-year-old from Vasco Da Gama, where he stayed on loan until he turned 18.

Balague has said (quoted earlier) that he has told a player at LFC that he wants to come and that we wouldn’t be bidding unless he wanted to come. I'm just being overly negative so that when he does sign it will be that much more pleasurable for everyone.

Mo Fo's can thank me later.

So I was right?

Borini said something similar before we signed him, I imagine it's all PR to drive up the price.

Lucas will get him.

Quite.

It would seem they share the same agent and, therefore, if he has already told a Liverpool player that he was coming, it's likely that Lucas was that man.

And....if he's been talking to Lucas about life at Liverpool.....I reckon he'd be feeling good about the move.

Just hope Lucas doesn't bully Cutinho when they go round Luis' house to play Monopoly.

Is it worth me watching those youtube clips yet?

I don't like watching youtube clips of people who are likely to end up playing against us for some shithole London or Manc club next season.

No not worth it yet as Inter are wanting double what we have offered. I reckon we'll walk away from the deal.
