Nah, I just thought he was too inconsistent. Sure, on his day he was brilliant. But you never know where you stood with him.

Sorry Themn. Garcia was a luxury player for me. Scored some great goals and gave some great performances I know, but my memory of him is of a very frustrating player who regularly gave the ball away and seldom tracked back.

"runs"

Ok - Luis Garcia thread to be started by Themn in T minus 5 n counting.

I'm in the WOlnad camp - phenomenal highlight real but boy oh boy was he frustrating.

He was like one of them loony birds who were worth the risk but you didn't know if you were going to end up in the sack with her and her mate or in nick with a stiletto through your sack.

Yea, but woland, think of the other attacking talent at the time. Easily the hottest girl in the room, hadn't had sex in ages, at that point it isn't even a decision.

He was brilliant at times, on balance he was a good player, not great.... That Juve goal, I was directly level with him about 5 rows back, it was one of the very best goals I've ever seen at Anfield, for his exectution, my view of it, the gang I was with, the complete expectation that we'd be raped by Ibrahimovic - I'd have sucked Luis off there and then... But he was fucking terrible at times.

Garcia really frustrated me at times but I loved him. I'll never forget the goal against Juve. I think most flair players will prove to be frustrating a lot of the time. Its because they try things that other run of the mill players don't, and they dont always come off.
Kinda the same reason Carragher scored so many OGs. Its because he puts himself into dangerous positions to block/clear the ball time and time again when other shites would run a mile.

The goal against Chelsea in the FA semi was the same again... He went and scored the ghost goal too... He was frickin ace... And then he'd just mong everything up and ruin every attack against Villa or similar.

I hope this guy is as good as people say on here. A mate of mine who's an inter season ticket holder had this to say when I asked him if he heard anything on that side. "Coutinho is like a Shania Twain song title: that don t impressed me much... there were high hopes when he joined the team but he didn t give his best yet...mmm"

Haha

Is it possible to divorce a friend? You should look into it.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers makes improved £8 million offer for Inter Milan midfielder Philippe Coutinho

Brendan Rodgers has stepped up his attempts to sign Inter Milan midfielder Philippe Coutinho after tabling an improved bid of £8 million. Comme

Rodgers has increased his offer for the Brazil international after further negotiations with Inter over the past 48 hours and remains confident of striking a deal despite competition from Southampton.
Liverpool’s latest bid is expected to be their last and they are not prepared to enter into a bidding war with Southampton, who have offered £10 million.
Mauricio Pochettino, the new Southampton manager, worked with Coutinho at Espanyol last season and his club have agreed to meet Inter’s asking price for the 20-year-old.
But it is believed Coutinho is not interested in a move to St Mary’s and Liverpool hope to agree a deal before the weekend.
Liverpool’s initial £6 million bid was rejected late last week but they have restructured their latest offer and agreed to pay an extra £2 million up front. Inter have been beset by financial problems and could find the promise of £8 million difficult to turn down.
Coutinho will require a work permit to seal a move to the Premier League and this week’s haggling means it is now unlikely he will make his debut against Oldham Athletic in the FA Cup on Sunday.
Earlier this week he had appeared to distance himself from a move to Anfield by insisting he wanted to stay and fight for his place but Liverpool remain hopeful of completing their second signing of this transfer window.
Liverpool have already signed Daniel Sturridge from Chelsea this month in a £12 million deal and are interested in Blackpool’s Thomas Ince, though not at the Championship club’s asking price.

Garcia scored about 5 great goals, and they were great. The rest of the time he was utter fucking bollocks. Couldn't pass, couldn't dribble, couldn't stay on his fucking feet.
