Philippe Coutinho

Ok - so what we need is Southampton to put a megabid in for Tom Ince.

Double win - we don't sign a severely overpriced Ince & we get an extra couple of mil off the sell-on clause.

Still waiting for the cunting spurs bid. Let's hope they spent their wad on Dempsey and Gifi.

If Sterling performed at anywhere near the same level with anywhere near the same productivity as Garcia I wouldn't be able to read this board for all the ropes of jizz that everyone would have spewed all over it.

Garcia never scored 30 did he? Maybe if you include training and friendlies.

Maybe that stat is in relation to how often he gave the ball away on the edge of our box with a stupid step over turn or flick.

True dat.

Liverpool Echo

LIVERPOOL have increased their offer for Philippe Coutinho to 9million Euros (£7.6million) as they look to wrap up a deal for the Inter Milan attacking midfielder.
The Reds have been locked in negotiations with the Serie A outfit since their initial bid of 6million Euros (£5million) was rejected last week.
Despite talks having dragged on, Liverpool remain confident that an agreement will be reached and they will finally secure the services of the 20-year-old Brazil international.
However, reports that managing director Ian Ayre flew to Italy yesterday to try to complete the transfer are untrue.
Coutinho, who has been hampered by a minor injury recently, was left out of the Inter squad for last night's Coppa Italia semi-final first leg against Roma as discussions over his future continue.
Talks will resume today and Liverpool are unconcerned about the prospect of interest from Southampton driving up the price as the player favours a move to Anfield.
Boss Brendan Rodgers hopes the exciting youngster, who can play in central midfield, out wide or in the No 10 role as a second striker, will become his second signing of the January transfer window following the arrival of Daniel Sturridge.
Coutinho signed for Inter from Vasco da Gama for 4million Euros when he was just 16 but remained in Brazil for a further two years before moving to Italy in 2010.
He enjoyed a successful spell on loan at Espanyol last season but since returning to Inter his chances have been limited. He has started just three Serie A matches this season and has made 10 league appearances in total.

If Garcia could have done it when he was 18, you could make the comparison.

People (like those forgetting how damn good Torres was) are completely forgetting how frustrating he was most of the time. Scored beautiful goals (we DO NOT win Europe without him) but there was a reason he was marginalized. I'd still like a player like him in our squad - they're invaluable.

Garcia scored about 5 great goals, and they were great. The rest of the time he was utter fucking bollocks. Couldn't pass, couldn't dribble, couldn't stay on his fucking feet.

5?

I've just woke up but I could probably double that.

Chelsea in the League Cup
The lob against Norwich
The screamer against Juve
The 25 yarder against Charlton
One of the best headed goals I've ever seen (can't remember who against - flicked header in Europe)
The lob against the bitters
The turn and curl into the top corner against Spurs
The flicked backward header against.... (can't remember if it was Bolton maybe?)
The header against Pompey
The opportunist header against the bitters after Morientes hit the bar
The stunning volley against Fulham (I think)

That's without mentioning crucial goals in the Champions League against Leverkusen and co and the all important goal at the death against Arsenal.

It was against Anderletch Mark, its always amazed me how that header didn't get more of a mention, it was completely outrageous.

I don't remember the frustrating moments, I just remember the beautiful goals. One of my favourite players in the last 20 years or so, our rivals fucking hated him, especially the bitters.

So fuck y'all!

You mentioned a couple of headers, so I'm not sure which one you were thinking of. This one takes some beating though, against Anderlecht:

That header against Anderlecht was superb. Him, Hyypia and Fowler are the best headerers of the ball I've seen at Liverpool.

Thanks mate, it was the Anderlecht one as Mystic said, but he scored another one that was pretty good too in the league where he headed it back after a cross in from the left.

Ha, just posting that clip at the same time you did. It's amazing what he could do with his head with his tiny frame. Puts the likes of Morientes, Crouch, Heskey, Carroll etc. to shame.
