According to Balague he wants to leave in january. He was told this summer that he would be involved with the first team, but has struggled to get playing time.

Liverpool.no has been told that Pacheco was ment to be involved in the away game against Napoli, but overslept and was late for a reserve game and has since been ignored by Hodgson.

Will be huge shame if we lose this great talent as a result of our horrible old senile manager that seems to alianaiting every player in the squad.

Yeah I hope Hodge Podge gets the boot before it's too late and he does even MORE damage.

I will absolutely furious if that cunt loses us one of our brightest prospects by failing to live up to his promises.

Well the bellend shouldn't oversleep then.

No sympathy.

so a talented youngster should be bombed out because he is tardy?
it sounds like it was a one off.

I don't know what bombed out means.

If it means have his chances restricted then yes, I think he should.

If it was Babel he would be called a useless cunt who didn't give a shit.

But because it's Patches it's down to some electronics not functioning.

Weird.

not by me 🙂

Babel, Jovanovic and Pacheco are all specialist wide-forwards - i don't think Roy has any clue on how to use one.

I'm not convinced that Jovanovic is as average as he has been playing lately. There is more in his locker.

So who do you believe can be of any value for Liverpool. Daniel Patcheco or Roy Hodgson...? Toughone isnt it??
Yeah, that's the question Henry will be asking himself this afternoon.

I don't think patches a wide player. roy put him there against northampton and he badly struggled.
I think he may trive as a forward who plays off the main striker in a slightly wide position (i.e. 4-3-3) but as a wide player/winger? naw.

Pacheco is not a specialist wide-forward. He's best when used in central but can be used on the wings too.

Yes but the problem is that Roy thinks that Pacheco is a wide player and wants his to practice at being one.

Strangely enough he seems to think the Meireles is RM as well

Squiggs is bang on, and I love the way people get all het up about a player whos claim to fame in a first team shirt is a nice flick infront of the kop. Roy has given a few youngsters alot more chances than the last manager gave.

So remind us how its Roy's fault Pacheco overslept for a reserve game and why he shouldnt have been disciplined for it? Roy might be shit but its fuckin cringeworthy the way people try and blame him for everything. If it was jay spearing no one would give a shit.

* and I rate the lad, but some of the bias in this thread against roy and in defence of a player whos done nothing yet is remarkable.

I think with patches he is going to have to start as from what I've seen of him he doesn't strike me as the type of player that will influence games as a sub. even though we say we have no striking options there are a host of players that want to be part of the front two

ngog
cole
gerrard
jove
kuyt

so patches has to push his way past all of them to get a sniff of his preferred position.

Mark how do you expect a player that you rate, to prove anything if he isnt given a chance?
Isnt that a seperate issue? Read the initial post in this thread and the subsequent ones. Its not like roy has an agenda against young players is it? People are miffed Pacheco hasnt had enough chances, fair enough, but ripping into the manager for disciplining a player while excusing a player for unprofessional behaviour is pathetically transparent.

I havent seen enough of Pacheco, esp in games where he has enough time to impress, to judge. I guess the fact that he shone for Spain during the recent youth tournament added weight to claims for him to be given a more serious looked in. That said, there've been many players who've won individual awards/praises for their show in tournaments, only to flatter in domestic/more professional stages.

Perhaps I'm a little off track but his situation kinda reminds me of Kristian Nemeth's. Considerable amount of hopes or cries for the lad to be given a chance, ended up being sold. The Hungarian kid's apparently have less than 15 mins of football with Olympiakos this season.

I dont for one minute suggest he has an agenda against younger players. The evidence is there to prove the opposite. If Pacheco was late for a reserve game because he overslept then he deserved to be disciplined.

But including the Napoli match we have played seven matches I think since then and Pacheco hasnt even figured on the bench.

A bit extreme dont you think?

Exactly, it's very extreme, it can happen to anyone. And he hadn't given him that much of a chance beforehand anyway.

Also, didn't somebody post a quote from Hodgson in the past how he doesn't trust youngsters?

His post match comments of Shelvey after Northampton were terrible and potentially confidence breaking.

It's all good that he gives youth a chance Mark. But his constant tinkering with playing them out of position is just mind boggeling. Shelvey is not a winger.

I don't understand why you continue to stand up for him, although some of the abuse is over the top I'll give you that. But he is to blame for the poor results, and several well informed journos claim that the list of players fed up or concerened with his methods is growing by the day. He's a liability for the future of our club.

He needs to go.
