Javi Martinez would do nicely as well. Can't believe he hasn't been moved on yet.

Marvellous player with enormous potential.

NOW you're talking Kris....looks a tremendous talent

It's assists and plays like the one leading to Ajax's fourth goal in the weekend that makes my hopes for the Eriksen-lad go through the roof.

Looking to the right.... looking to the right... and then hitting a splendid defence splitting pass to the left whilst still looking right.

Laudrup inspired stuff that makes me wanna dance a jig.

He looks very very good from youtube videos ;D

How does he compare to Hazard, KHL? Eriksen may appear to be a more astute buy considering the demand for Hazard?

I haven't seen anywhere near as much of Hazard compared to Eriksen but here's my two pence on the matter.

Hazard is more of a winger/dribler type perhaps in the Ronaldo/Sanchez-mould (though he's smaller in stature) who's capable of playing most forward positions behind the front man. Quick feet, good cross, loads of skills and silky moves.

Eriksen is an advanced playmaker with enourmous footwork and ability. He has been mentioned in the same mould as Iniesta, probably the player he reminds me of the most. (And a bit of Laudrup at times too as said). Covers a lot of ground and wants the ball constantly. He needs to score more and the same probably could be said about Hazard albeit he's been sligthly better in that department so far. Bergkamp is giving Eriksen special lessons in scoring goals mind so he'll probably soon get better there as well, and he has started to hit the nets more frequently both for Ajax and Denmark.

Eriksen can be played on the wings but his main position is the old number ten. From that position he can set up goals, score and dictate play.

Suarez...........................Eriksen......................Hazard
..................................Carroll...................................

I'd love us to sign someone like him.

(Oh and any formation which chucks Suarez out wide is bonkers)

i would have has suarez behind carroll, and hazard and eriksen on the wings

if we dont go all out for a hazard type then we'll be making the same mistake we always do. suarez will not hang around if we dont keep raising the bar.

come on skullf, we both know we won't go all out for hazard.
We'll go all out for a good, if not unspectacular playmaker. Someone who gets the job done, but more than likely won't have that flash of brilliance.

Don't know if I thought that completely through but he has got no problem playing wide with license to roam. He'd certainly be more effective outhere than Eriksen because of his pace and ability to leave a player stranded.

Personally I think he's awesome anywhere across the 3 in a 4-3-3 formation but Eriksen is much more of a 10er in the old meaning of the word.

KHL , what position does he play ? He looks like a number 10 but as we all know less and less teams play with that formation so players of his ilk are pushed out wide where they don't have as much influence .

We really have to be in for this guy if we can , we can worry about his position later ....send over Big Jan to fetch him .

KHL will be more equipped to answer but his best position seems to be as a play maker. Ideally he'd link up midfield and attack.

I've been a bit 'meh' when its come to KHL's 'ones to watch' type post as on the whole the players aren't up to much but its got to be said this lad looks very good. Seen him play twice, he floats around between the lines, plays with his head up, is inventive, sees things early and has a good strike on him. I'd happily put up with KHL getting all exciteable on the forum every day if it meant we signed him.

We know we probably should get outraged at the awful amounts of money that teams like Manchester City and Chelsea are splashing all over the shop, but if it brings such marvellous talents to our shores, it's much more difficult to be annoyed.

The Daily Mail reports that both Chelsea and City are sniffing around Ajax's Danish midfielder Christian Eriksen, the lad who has been impressing pretty much everyone with his classy stylings.

The paper claims Chelsea have already made a bid of around £22million, but City are preparing to blow them out of the water with a £30million offer.

Apparently both clubs watched him play and star for Ajax against Dynamo Zagreb.

Agger has told Eriksen to come to Liverpool.

I have too.

No worries.

why are you doing this to yourself, KHL? you're hyping up this kid only to be kicked in the teeth when he fucks off to man city.

Im just a bit sick of looking at who is the NEXT player to turn round our fortunes.
The list of players who I have wanted and we havnt signed is fucking massive. I give up.
A bit.

the longer we are outside the CL the more it is going to become essential we grow our own superstars. watching the reserves we are heading in the right direction.

[/quote]Look if Arsenal cant stop City signing Nasri we have ZERO chance of keeping any of our 'stars'
When it comes down to it we are a feeder club for the big (rich) clubs nowadays.

He's from Middelfart.

I'm not sure which is funner; this or the fact that Peter Schmeichel's middle name is Boleslaw.

He looks very very good. Anyone watch Ajax here? KHL?

How is Nicolas Lodeiro performing? He was supposed to be a huge talent in South America.

Chelsea and Manchester United target Christian Eriksen has admitted he would prefer to join Barcelona.
The prodigious Ajax talent is one of the most wanted midfielders in Europe and Premier League duo Chelsea and United have scouted him extensively.
Eriksen was the name on everyone's lips after England's friendly with Denmark back in February as he ran the show against Fabio Capello's men.
He also starred at last summer's Under-21 European Championship and Ajax have been inundated with enquiries regarding the Danish international.
Eriksen is only 19 and has a contract at Ajax until 2014 but Barcelona are keen admirers and Pep Guardiola is weighing up a move.
And Chelsea and United will not be pleased to hear Eriksen concede he'd prefer to move to the Nou Camp.
"I think most footballers dream of Barcelona," he said. "We'll see what happens when the time comes to leave Ajax. Barcelona's style speaks to me very much.
"A transfer to Barcelona would be great, but I have enough challenges with Ajax. I am patient and I'm in absolutely no hurry."
