If my fragmentary Dutch hasn't let me down though, that seems to suggest he's a tad more likely to sign for Tottenham, not least because he and Vertonghen are pals.
It says that Spurs hope that the relationship with Vertongen will influence him to choose London . It could just as easily say that we hope that the relationship with Suarez and Agger will influence him to choose Liverpool .
It does say that both clubs are watching him every week . No actual quotes from anybody real though just an anonymous tip giver .

One of the reasons imo that we are still struggling to catch the top teams is our lack of World class talents.
In that light, are there even the slightest of chances for us to get our hands on a player like Eriksen we should go all in.
The few times we've done this it's mostly been a success for us too. Alonso, Masher, Torres and Suarez.
Why I get the luxury argue with regards to our defensive gaps I believe there are some players we should always thrive to get our hands on. Eriksen beeing an obvious candidate.

He's an advanced playmaker, a position where we are not exactly smothered in talent.
Gerrards position mostly but besides him whom have we got? Suso?
Doubt very much he's ready to play week in week out for the next couple of Seasons despite his obvious talents.

We have a limited budget as it is. No doubting his talent, but I'd be pretty Pissed if we used the majority of it on him when the defensive side of our team should be a priority. Plus can only see that signing even being thought of if we get rid of allen or Henderson. Definitely can't see rodgers giving up on allen yet at all.
If we get 12-14 mill for Carroll, then spending that money on Eriksen is a no brainer.
Look, Sturridge will not play every game because of his explosive pace, nor will Coutinho as they'll be out from time to time with minor strains and what not.
Its all about building a quality squad that can challenge on 4 fronts.

A quality BALANCED squad. Buying eriksen isn't going to provide more steel in midfield. We need steel and a quality centre half more than we need eriksen.

His comments arrives as rumours sending Eriksen to Liverpool has gathered even more pace.
What's even more great about this, Ryan, is that the name Viktor Fischer will be all over our scouts notebooks too.
