Is everyone happy?

Absolutely not. I'm 95% happy rather than the full Monty as I wanted Ancelotti to get the job, but Klopp is a decent bet too IMO.

Ask me again if/once Klopp has been appointed. If he is then that's a no (to keeping Rodgers) !

It's always said to see a manager go (bar Hodgson) but Klopp is definitely a trade up so yes I'm happy. Klopp has my full support.

No. Klopp for Rodgers is an upgrade no doubt.

Moreover, if it means there's more cohesive planning on the club without tension between recruitment and coaching staff it can only be a good thing.

Klopp is just about the most exciting manager out there and he's direct experience of managing (successfully) a very similar club.

Im over the fucking moon.

I think it was obvious to most that we needed a change, we probably should have done it in the summer(we definitely should in hindsight).

On the face of it Klopp looks like the right idea. He's kind of like what we thought Rodgers might be, relatively young, in for the long term, new ideas, and looks to be over achieving given the resources he's gotten.

I assume we'll get the usual new manger bounce when/if he arrives, and we should come close to fourth, but I think we won't know for sure if he's the right man until we see how we do in the next two transfer windows.

I'm happy for now, but ready to jump on him if he buys a load of shit in January.

Rodgers looked dead and buried for a number of reasons so I think a change was required though in hindsight in should've been done in the summer.

I'm a long way away from getting my hopes up in terms of everything being great but it's exciting to be in a new situation with posshibilities.

I'm going to give him (if it's him) the full six games before I decide.
The full six games? Wow, how generous of you.

I'd love to see the man come in & get us playing sumptuous footy within six games.

It will most likely take the rest of the season, two transfer windows & part of next season to begin to translate his vision accurately onto the pitch, & that's fine, it's to be expected.

That's not to say I don't want to see signs of improvement, but nothing more can be expected realistically, hoped for of course, but not expected.

I think it was LTW that coined the phrase on here 'microwave generation'.

The expectations of fans now are fucking insane & it truly pisses me off.

If things behind the scenes are as bad as what has been said on here then I don't see the point in getting excited.

Unless Klopp can get it sorted with ruthless German efficiency.

woosh

Rodgers should have gone at the end of last season. The season before earned him the chance till the end of last season and some of the stick dished out was completely unwarranted. Truth be told - the performances were pretty poor in general last year and the transfer strategy was all over the place. There was a little purple patch were we went on a bit of a run that gave some hope he'd turn it around but if you think rationally those performances again were weak and carried a fair amount of luck with them. The Villa semi did it for me though - that's when I knew he was lost - because he looked it. He'd was like a rabbit in the lights, clueless, panicked. So yeah, he should have gone at the end of the season. The poor performances have continued and now he's moved albeit a little late however that may have been due to Klopps availability, we don't know. Still thank him for that 2013-14 season though. We played some superb footy and I'm not having it for a minute it was all down to Suarez, absolute bollocks.

He's gone now and I've no ill feelings toward the man. It's sad to see any LFC manager go because it generally means we failed again. Fuck all the gloating and celebrating and shite though

I'm delirious that I'll never have to read about us going after another Rodgers style transfer target again.

My expectations for this season are fairly modest, though. From what I've read about Klopp it seems like we'll be part of a work in progress of him fully realising a new take on his old Dortmund team, so it's bound to be hit and miss for a while.

I really hope it's enough to stumble to a CL place but I tend to doubt it.

If it's Klopp or Carlo, then yeh.
I'm sure it is one of the two. I'd very much doubt they didn't have one of the two pretty much in the bag before pulling the trigger on Rogers' reign.

This is one of the most intriguing things as far as I'm concerned. I'm sure we'll read all about 'gegenpressing' ad nauseum in the press, but it had become unsustainable and Klopp was trying to move to something different in his last year, which is partly why they came unstuck. It'll be interesting to see how he wants us to play - whether he'll try and go back to how Dortmund were, or whether the way he wants to play has evolved at all. I hope it's the latter.

Think this is a turning point for us, I really do.

He's one of the most respected and likeable managers in the game right now. I'm sure there will be players who will really want to play for him.

The other positive thing is that the current players will absolutely love him and really want to prove their worth!

Klopp to go down as an LFC great!

I am not delighted but happy enough. It became pretty clear that it wasn't going to work out for Rodgers but would have preferred to have had someone else come in in the summer when we could actually make changes and buy players rather than have someone come in during the season when the transfer window is shut and all the money is spent anyway.

Uh huh! 🙂

Rodgers lost the team it seemed ... So I'm happy we'll have a manager who players will have to impress to be a part of his long term plans.

I will say I'm only sad because I really thought Rodgers was going to do something with this club ... I thought he had something about him that just gave me hope. So in that sense, I'm disappointed it didn't work out but that is now the past ... and Klopp (it seems) is our present and hopefully future, so the same hopes I had for Rodgers now transfer to him ... Here's hoping we all get to experience a fucking premier league title before we hit 40 (sorry Judge etc, but most of us are still under 40!).

I am not....

Everyone needs to stop being Jinxy bastards, but, IF we somehow manage to sign Klopp I'll be over the moon. He'll probably be our biggest world class signing in decades.
He's a top 5 in the world manager, and we're currently not a top 5 club on the pitch, so it would be a massive coup. When was the last time we signed someone for the club that was was a top 5 in the world at something (positive).

Yep. Glad he's gone. Klopp is a much-needed upgrade. Would have preferred Anchelotti but Klopp should get us moving in the right direction again.

To be fair to Rodgers you cant blame him for maybe getting disillusioned with things at Anfield.

He had half of his team ripped apart by differing circumstances after giving us the greatest season weve had since 1990.

Fair enough they werent all his buys but the man can only put on the pitch what is given to him at that point.

I think i'd have thought things were working against me when your best men want to leave and players get injured all year and a club legend leaves....

He did a good job, but maybe it was a job too big for him to begin with.

Thanks for that season Brendan as it really did get us all to the point where we believed again only to be dashed at the very last.

Hope he does well elsewhere but not to our detriment. So glad we have Klopp.... the kind of manager we've really needed since Rafa left.
