Actually both comments are inaccurate (I've struck out mine). Since xG is based on the likelihood of any player (it isn't specified), not just strikers or an average striker, scoring from any situation based on the difficulty of the shot (distance and angle from goal etc. etc.). Not all xG calculations are made the same way.
 
Your initial post revealed that you thought xG was like a golf handicap and each player had one. You then edited it once you'd actually read something from opta or similar and found out I was right and it's an average probability taken from thousands of data points. I'm not arsed I said striker, we were talking about strikers, and it's their xG that we're on about.

Wrong on your first assumption. I really phrased what I wanted to say poorly. Right on the second ( 6 sites) because I wanted to be sure. But we got there in the end.
