Very good performance and deserves to get a run in the team. Don't understand why he was dropped for the manc game. Is offering a lot more than allen. Allen needs to up his game if he wants his spot back.

Honestly I was hoping the get some likes from bumping this thread, so I am a little disappointed. However Henderson has been our best midfielder bar maybe Gerrard in the last few weeks and he deserves that goal.

I want to get some likes for quoting your post.

If he can play like that every week he should play until he inevitably doesn't.

Someone was telling me that he's been staying behind in training and works the hardest in the squad, puts the most hours in, which is encouraging.

Confidence is the key here. Henderson needs to keep going, needs to keep starting games.

What's he going to do when he stays later than everybody else in training? Pass it sideways to nobody?

I like him really.

He can do more keepie ups with a tennis ball than any other player at the club. For that reason alone he could be an incredible ball boy at Wimbledon should this football thing not work out. 70 odd I heard.

That was by far his best match in a Liverpool shirt. His attitude had always been fantastic during matches but he does appear physically stronger and possesses a newfound confidence like Downing. Hopefully what you say is true, so his hard-working nature and determination to do well will rub off on the other players off the field too. I've gone from leave him at the bus stop, to bring him along for the journey.

I know you've been down on him a lot, which for the caliber of player we need and want is completely understandable, but, he has being looking very competent of late and I hope it continues. The staying behind training bit makes sense as he has looked more tactically aware, confident and based on his increased mass (his arms are huge lately) I'd wager he spends a lot of that time strength training. Seems to have a great attitude to come back after being deservedly dropped from first team contention after Kenny persisted with him.

someone compared him to lampard on here the other day - could turn out to be a good comparison. both are fairly standard in all departments, but seem to possess a very workman like attitude which could mean that their potential is greater that the the sum of its parts

That description doesn't match Lampard at all. He's far from 'workmanlike'. He's an incredibly classy player.

workman like with respect to his professionalism and day-to-day commitment. 8 yrs ago no one thought fat frank would amount to what he has become. he's got there because he has worked incredibly hard at what he has got. when you think of him, you don't think: incredible dribbler, amazing passer, great tackler. But he's still be incredibly good, at club level at least.

Buddha and I made that Lampard comparison when he initially joined us.

It's pretty far from the truth. I can't see him become a Lampard like player at all.

There's potential in him to be a good player, but if he is to realise it, Rodgers needs to find a position for him long term. The third midfield position isn't going to be it, I can guarantee you that. Regardless of his performance against Norwich.

A good comparison to Lampard in his WH days I think.

Henderson was brilliant against Norwich and has been playing alot better lately. As some have already commented on, he looks physically stronger this season. He's much more involved in the play and is making a positive contribution.

Here's hoping he can continue this form but the big test will be in the next few league games away at Arsenal and City.
Certainly rather have him in the team over Allen at the minute.

Does he eat lots as well?

Even then Lampard was renowned for being an attacking, goalscoring midfielder. Henderson isn't.
FFS Lampard now has 13 years more PL experience than Henderson! Give him a fucking chance. Ok so it might not work out but at least let him have a shot at it.

So much for the famous Liverpool FC support. 🙄
