Getting Cole and Aqua back is probably not a good thing for any wage budget.

This man will be looking to go on stress leave:

Agreed, but a lot people in his situation would do the same. You've got a short career and if you can earn a lot of money - you do it. Human nature, but the money in football is just ridiculous.

Makes you respect the ones that doesnt put money first even more though.

I dont blame the players mate. I blame us. Its fucking shite that Jermaine Pennant owns ferraris and shit. Its fucking disgusting that Joey Barton has probably spent more money on cars than I will ever earn in my life. Its obscene, and some fucking no mark GINGER wants to tell us he's worth 70k??!
FUCK that!

Don't take this the wrong way Oncy but I love the delicious irony of you complaining about people who earn too much money while your avatar is someone shouting 'show me the money' down the telephone. 😉

This bloke can fuck right off. He's probably going to be shit anyway, saves us the bother of trying to offload him next season.

If this thread was on RAWK it would have been locked ages ago by Roybrendo. Why they bother having a forum called summer transfers just to have 24 threads locked from existing 26 threads in the forum.😵

So true, 90% of the threads in the Summer Transfer section are locked.

I'm afraid to post on the site - every post you make seems to break some stupid fucking rule.

It's the East Germany of football forums.

We need a player like Sigurdsson, we've needed one like him since we signed Suarez. Not to replace anyone, but to add goals from a deeper position and to have someone playing deeper that Suarez trusts and someone who can get more goals for Suarez. He'll be great for us if we get him, I have no doubt of that, but if we lose out on him then Rodgers better have spotted a player equal to him in talent but taking less on the wages front. I really hope managerless spurs havent turned his head!!

I haven't seen enough of this lad to know if he's worth all this hassle but if he was a top target for the club and they fail to get him then it is a bit of a kick in the teeth , especially if he goes to spurs who we will most likely have to finish above if we want top 4 .

We'll move on but the question is do we have the budget to buy better or are we now looking at lesser alternatives .

Is this going to be another one we add to our list of "we should of signed him when..." after he stars for Spurs and get's involved in a 40m transfer tug or war between Chelski, Man Ure, Man Shitty and unReal Madrid...

Would you mind letting me know why you think it's ridiculous?

On the money these guys are on do you really think London Weighting is going to make significant inroads into their multi-thousand pound WEEKLY salaries ?

Why didn't we have his tied up long ago?

I mean in the same way that Utd signed Kagawa?

Either we didn't really want or we are fucking awful when it comes to transfers. Or both.

No one knows the circumstances of the deal Holle. We were waiting until Swansea were out the picture, we've offered a deal and Spurs have offered more, it's up to him now. Someone explain to me where "we've" fucked up?

We offer this kid mega bucks and then have a few players on our hands clamouring for improved deals. We're such amateurs.

Goods & services cost more, yes.

Property significantly more, yes.

Lifestyle costs more, yes.

So, erm, yes.

They may have more money than us but they still pay about 30% more for stuff if they are in London.

I dont understand how you dont get that.

It seems that our transfer dealings always are dragged out into the public. When was the last signing that nobody saw coming?

You're right. But our deals with our primary targets always seem to take ages to eventually fall through. And after that we have to sign someone like Downing because we run out of time and get raped by clubs like Villa. That's frustrating.

our first target and already its a rollercoaster of yes/no going here going there, welcome to a month of annoying misleading madness

Cos maybe, finally, about-fucking-timely we're the ones taking charge of player arrivals, and not being dictated to by players demanding ridiculous wages and clubs demanding ridiculous transfer fees.

I'd have liked this lad, but if this is an indicator that we're going to be more assertive and more measured in the market, and get rid of this fucking horrendous cycle of getting humped everytime a transfer window opens - then losing out on Gylfi is a sacrifice I'm prepared to live with.

Exactly. We've been hampered by overpaid players greed for far too long. It has to stop and I'm glad the club is taking a stance on this. I'm surprised at the "just pay him the wages" comment Pat. No, let's not.
