Gylfi Sigurdsson

very poor by liverpool in transfer market yet again. openly discuss target in press, let it drag on for weeks, and lose player to other team.

I like Sigurdsson, it would be a major blow to lose out in these circumstances, not so much because of the player but because we've been pipped by a direct rival even when all the cards seemed to be stacked in our favour and he was seemingly a top target.

It would be a pretty disconcerting start to the new era.

I'm not asking for permission anymore:

* We have no money!
* We have to sell to buy!
* We won't be making any big signings!
* Downing and Adam will still be here when the season starts!

We probably said fuck off Icelandic fishface when James Rodriguez accepted our offer...

If he does join spurs then the only thing i can think we've done wrong is not offer him enough wages . I mean It was obvious that people were going to ask Rogers if he would go in for him and personally i had no problem with what he said , that the player had agreed to join Swansea so should show them respect and speak with them first about their plans . Yeah it's a dog eat dog world and some will say we shouldn't care about Swansea but fuck it , surely somebody has to have some morals in this shit modern game .

It makes no sense really , he pulled out of the swansea deal presumably because rogers had gone then last minute doesn't want to join him instead opting for a club with no manager , taking the risk the new lad might not even like him .

anyway , fuck you sigurdsson and your flight grounding volcano

Breaking:Gylfie's dad,Sigurdur Adalsteinsson has just interviewed on an Icelandic radio station and what he said was that Gylfie enjoyed working under Brendan Rodgers, and this matter will be resolved by this weekend. However we do understand that the spurs offer is still but according to his dad he has NOT decided on anything yet.

Who has discussed openly and what was said exactly Glen?

regards

All Rodgers said was he'd be interested in him if he became available. Hardly conducting all our transfer business in public.

Its a dog fight atm, its not over. Despite whan Ben Smith and Echo are reporting on twitter. But like i said earlier, Spurs offer is significantly higher than LFC.

Bets are closed and most ITK´s saying its pritty much Spurs now. But nothing is signed, nothing is agreed. He just has a much better offer from Spurs. I do think Liverpool will up their offer and he will be ours. On a even playground, or just similar, he fancies us. The difference in contracts beeing offered is just rediculous.

I might be the only one but i do think he will be ours - but his camp are thinking things over. If nothing comes in from Liverpool (better contract or a Bravehearth speach from Rodgers) he will be playing in white next season, time is running out thou...

So Hansern, what you're saying is that Gylfi is a mercenary opting for more money to go to a managerless club where he isn't guaranteed a starting place?

Jon Fox, I'm calm and not going Asim!

This is from the Icelandic lad on YNWA, I've got no cluemate. Stopped caring tbh. If he signs he signs, if not meh.

Spurs are apperantly offering 30% more in wages

I hope we don't up the salary offer. If he wants to play for Liverpool then fine otherwise he can fuck off.

I want us to cease offering outlandish salaries to players who haven't yet proved their worth.

I'd happily miss out on him if it means getting James Rodriguez and Gaston Ramirez 😉, maybe we got distracted trying to get them and forgot about Gylfi haha.... more seriously though pretty gutted he's opted for a rival instead of us wouldn't have minded if it was Swansea or something ah well so be it plenty more CM/AM'S about.

If I got offered two jobs, one offering 30% more salary i'd know exactly which one i'd choose. This isn't a mercenary decision, this is two clubs, on a par, offering two different deals, he's within his right to choose the significantly better one.

Too right. Its very easy for us as Liverpool fans to say who we'd choose regardless of the money but for a non-LFC fan it'd be a different story. If he goes to Spurs then fuck him, move on to the next fella.

Have to agree. And one that finished 17 points ahead of the other and would've qualified for CL twice in a row compared to the other that last played in it in 2010.

100% correct.

It's not like he even likes us. He bloody hates us.

If he's as big a manc fan as we are led to believe he may not like Liverpool. Going to Spurs wouls still give him the opportunity of signing for them in a couple of years. Signing for Liverpool would effectively close that door.

Tottenham Hotspur have moved ahead of Liverpool and Swansea City in the pursuit of Gylfi Sigurdsson after agreeing a €10m (£8m) fee with Hoffenheim for the Iceland midfielder.
Spurs, who are without a manager, hope to complete a deal for the coveted 22-year-old by the end of this week, but they have still to agree personal terms with the player. Their approach to Hoffenheim comes amid serious doubts over the future of Luka Modric at White Hart Lane, with Real Madrid linked with the Croatian.
Liverpool had been confident of signing Sigurdsson following the appointment of Brendan Rodgers as manager. The midfielder flourished under Rodgers on loan at Swansea last season and the pair have spoken several times since a proposed £6.8m transfer to the Liberty Stadium collapsed as a result of the manager's departure for Anfield.
Michael Laudrup, Rodgers's replacement at Swansea, has conceded defeat in attempting to resurrect a permanent move to south Wales for the Iceland international. Liverpool's interest in Sigurdsson remains but the club fear that Spurs are firm favourites to complete the deal.

I don't think him being a manc fan is relevant at all.

Who is doing our negotiations? Ayre?

Apperantly we offered lower wages than Reading. If it comes down to 15k a week and Rodgers really wanted him, then Houston we have...............

The next stage of this saga will be (When he signs for spurs), people will say how shit/over rated he is
