Gylfi Sigurdsson

Özil would be my dream pick if we could sign him.

That's another frustrating one. Anyone could see prior to him leaving Bremen (with one year left on his contract) that he was a superstar in the making (I banged on about him relentlessly 2 years ago) and yet seemingly little effort was made to get him.

If ever there was a signing to be made that not only would massively improve the team but was a guaranteed moneyspinner, it was him. Then again, we had Woycorpse in charge at the time.

He even played against the English. Completely missed that.

Have we been linked?

The 24-year-old, who is currently with the France squad ahead of Euro 2012, has told Sochaux officials he intends to move on, after the club suffered another disappointing league campaign, finishing 14th.
'I'm ready to go and play overseas, but I have not made a decision about my future,' Martin said.
'I know there has been contact but I'm 100 per cent focused on France and the Euros.'
The aforementioned contact has come from other Ligue 1 clubs, with Lille leading the hunt for the Paris-born midfielder, but the former French Young Player of the Year also boasts huge interest from Premier League clubs.
Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool are all long-term admirers of the forward, and have scouted him intensively in the last 18 months, fulling speculation that they will now move in.
Martin is expected to be available for a bargain £8 million price, despite having three-years left to run on his Sochaux contract, that was only renewed late last year.
He currently earns around £45,000-a-week on that deal, but is expected to command at least £60,000-a-week, if he moves to the Premier League as expected.

QT @jamesappell: Tkachenko: "How does a girl avoid being raped by 5 African Americans? She throws them a basketball. It's the same with Alan." #WTF

Good God. Other than the knuckle-dragging racism, what does that even mean? To avoid being raped by Dzagoev you should throw him a football? WTF?

Incidentally, Arsene Wenger is all over Dzagoev like a cheap suit if reports are to be believed.

You will be when you catch up with the reports about Michael Laudrup possibly becoming Swansea's new manager. 😉
Apparently the deal is all but done and dusted.

Interesting move, will be exciting to see how he copes with the Prem. A few good years with Swansea could see him end up with a top club.

*Hopefully not us anymore as I want Rodgers to be a success and stay for 30 years.

Sadly I don't expect Swansea and Laudrup to be a good match. He need something extra to play on, and the only way for Swans is down!

Am confused. I thought Hazard had signed for Chelsea and we have to wait till July to sign Sig?

EPLtransfer window doesnt officially open until July 1. Hazard hasnt signed for them officially

No, we need a Silva/Sneijder/Kaka/Kagawa/Mata type. Soemone who can create in the 10 role.

I don't know how Sneijder makes it into that list - completely different type of player unless he's changed his whole game in the last 12 months.

We do need the Silva type player - hope we don't end up with someone who pretends to be that player like Mata. I know some Chav supporters think he's a great little player whereas I reckon he's more like Smicer; all the skill in the world but not able to demonstrate it in the epl.

Kagawa would be fantastic or even Kaka though he's surely not the type for FSG. Kagawa and Stevie as the front two of a midfield 3 would be outstanding.

LIVERPOOL FC have opened talks with Hoffenheim over signing Gylfi Sigurdsson.

Brendan Rodgers is eager to make the Iceland international his first capture as Anfield boss and Reds officials were yesterday believed to be negotiating a price for the midfielder with the German club.

Hoffenheim are understood to have quoted Liverpool more than the 9 million euros (around £7m) fee Swansea had agreed for the former Reading man.
