He said Johnson had an injury and had a number of other reasons why he hasn't been 100% this season. He didn't say it was all injuries.

Also said we wouldn't be signing a defender, we just need to get the ones we have fit.

Sounds like he's carrying an injury of some kind and needs time for him to recover from it.
I'm with everyone on his critism on his performances as even his strong attacking play over the last 6 months has been almost non existent which is obvious but some of the purile immature name calling on here is pretty awfull for a LFC player but then there's an awfull lot of big men on the internet.

What was Glen Johnson's best quality when he was playing at a decent level? He could control the ball, make a decent pass most times and be an effective part of our attacking unit. He seems so disinterested lately most of his passes go back to Skittles. I can't even remember the last time he made a run and crossed the ball (I remember the beautiful assist to Suarez vs West Ham mind), or played a one two with Sterling to get open ... Sorry for my 'puerile immature name calling' and I'm not a big man, so stop projecting.

Well it could be quite convoluted. We could have, let's say, £10 million to spend; let's say we want a Midfielder, Winger and a Left Back. It's possible we could have identified wingers that would give us value for the £10 million, but no full backs or midfielders that would do so. So we're looking at loans, and trying to sign Salah (and failing).

It's possible.

I would rather we strengthened our defence, to be honest, as I think we lack quality in both full back positions, as well as at centre back, but there you go.

I'm not disagreeing with you at all, but I cant get it out of my head that Brendan is more interested in signing attackers, because he sees it as more important than addressing our defensive frailties.

You are projecting the reason for Johnson's performances, whole forum is about projecting for fck sake. Rogers has apparently said he's out for indefinite period yet you are quiet happy to project the fact me because he doesn't care. That's fine, it's your progative. Is there any need for constant name calling, "cnt". He's a player who's playing shite and has been for a half a year, but he's a LFC player. Just don't see the need in some of the words for a LFC player by grown men, surely that sort of thing should rest to Collymore's twitter account.
Regarding the name calling, I don't mean just you. I was referring to some of the posts in here in general, huge amount of anger.

I am not projecting anything - scroll back and you'll see there's an article about how Johnson is pissed we're not going to re-new his 100k/week contract. That makes sense to me because I cannot fathom how a player can drop so drastically in the one part of his game which is really good ... Maybe I'm wrong, happens sometimes. I guess we'll see when he comes back ...

I don't think I've called him a 'cnt' - but I have said ShiteRB (which is ok, he has been - you're saying so yourself). If I have, and it bothers you that much, I apologize.

And yes, you've got anger issues.

Thank fuck he is injured, now Brendan will be forced into putting one of the hungrier players in, it's like Gerrard, Brendan seems to have some players indelible inked onto the first eleven sheet, no matter how shite they play week in week out.

I think I typed that yesterday? Day before. Oh well, I forgot. I apologize. It was unnecessary, and mostly due to my uncontrollable anger at his pathetic displays this year.

I hope you're happy now.
 
Although in Gerrard case, it is more of round peg into square holes because of who he is, to the detriment of the team

More bothered who will play right back, despite his very obvious faults. We look very unbalanced when he didn't play and already having a big hole on the LB side, not sure how we will manage. Everton are bound to exploit it to the full.
 
Kelly will, he was making his mark there before his injury, and Glenjo was shunted to the left because of it ( and played better there )

Not sure Kelly is the player he used to be, hasn't played much sine he came back from injury and seems like there maybe a scenario where he may never be the same player again due to those injuries. Hopefully wrong as it would be great to have a reliable RB even if he can't get up and down like Johnson.

Flanno or Kelly, or even McLaughlin (maybe that's why it was only a 1 month loan) will ensure GlenJo probably is moved in the summer sir.
 
Can someone get me up to speed? Did Glen suffer a new injury and is suddenly now injured? Or is he out due to a combination of niggling injuries and he is having an op of some sort? Or simply bombed out of the team due to reasons we aren't privy too?

I'm confused here.
 
Isn't Glen Jo just not playing well cause his contract isn't being renewed?

That's the impression I get.
 
Johnson being out of the team for a while might be a blessing in disguise. Pity we've not exactly got masses of cover.
