Andy Carroll In Danger Yo !

If the stories are true that he wants to stay and fight for his place, I think he may go on to stay and have a very good season.

I'd imagine Carroll would be up for a move back home.

I'm personally very disappointed about all this and that's coming from someone who criticised Carroll regularly during large periods of last season.
Give the lad a chance for fuck sake.

That's assuming he'd play. I think the whole thing is daft, there's clearly something to it though because we've avoided coming out and knocking it on the head. If we don't think he'll fit the system, we should sell. What's the point in loaning him out? It's not like he'll suddenly fit us a year down the line is it?

If Carroll is really committed to fighting his way back into the team, he should come home early to join the pre-season tour in the US and he should really fight his way into the team. I really hope he does as a hungry and determined Carroll is one very dangerous player.

I guess you make a good point ... So let's 'suck it up' and fuck both him and Downing off ...

Well when we sack Rodgers, i'm sure the new manager might love him.

Haha..... I was thinking along those lines. Is he being loaned out just in case? Have we stumbled upon a great new policy, fuck the money, we'll keep them on standby just in case next years manager likes him?

And i changed my view on Carroll based more on the difference in his work-rate and commitmen in the last few months of the season. He looked leaner, more determined, quicker and ran his bollocks off which was good to see compared to the first half of the season where he was slow and pedestrian.
Call it as i see it from game to game, unlike alot of posters on this site, i don't have a fixed opinion on any player.

Carroll scored the winner at Blackburn, winner in the Cup semi, scored in the Cup final and single-handedly almost dragged us to extra-time. He showed what he was about and because of that, he deserves another season imo.

To give him back to Newcastle would make us even more of a laughing stock in the transfer market.

Hope not, for one thing it'll prove that Rosco is right about the importance of the manager.

Ok, fair enough.

So you're a reactionist knee jerker rather than a thinker. 😀

I'm actually more warming to the idea of keeping him. We'll probably sign another attacking wide players / striker and with Suarez, Borini, Carroll and the new guy we'd have good options, as well as Sterling, Pacheco, Bellamy in the squad as well. This is all based on the idea that we'll be playing a 4-3-3 with wide strikers.

seriously , why the fuck do people keep banging on about pacheco as if he's going to be a major part of the team next season ? What the fuck has he done to convince people he's going to be so good ? . Now don't get me wrong , i'd have no problem in him suddenly becoming shit hot but we're talking about a player who's never looked up to the standard when playing in the 1st team , who had a decent spell at norwich but even there was a sub a fair few times (in the championship !!) and has come off a season back in spain where for all accounts he did fuck all and was a sub mainly !.

And as for carroll , yeah he was decent at the end of the season and finally after a full year plus started looking like he finally gave a fuck. He was a handful and scored a couple of goals but he wasn't amazing by any stretch of the imagination . Again i have no problem if he stays and has a great season but lets not kid ourselves that he's done enough so far . If he stays he's a huge amount to prove and the question is whether he's up to that challenge or will even get the playing time .

Newcastle dont need him, and after the treatment they gave him at St.JP I doubt he'd want to go there.

They'll be in need of a striker if Ba goes to PSG and Pardew remains a big fan of Carroll.

I'm sure Carroll will have been hurt by the treatment he got that day, but he'll have half expected it and i don't think it would put him off going back to the team he grew up supporting. And as we all know football is a fickle game, a few goals and all will be forgiven.

We'll be needing our heads examined if this happens tho, a player we brought from Newcastle for £35m, 18 months later we give him back on loan even when they finished above us last season. LOL.

This Carroll business is the only negative issue that I have with Rodgers so far. I think we've handled it extremely poor.

1 year loan with an option to buy for 17 mill. From a team that finished higher than us.
Its a fucking horrendous deal if it happens.

He'll score a bucketload of goals and we'll look like muppets, again.

17m ? fuck yeah take that !

although why does everyone want to insist on a loan first ? just buy him now . We'll be burnt if we loan him , they'll most likely pull out of the deal or try renegotiate .

This is the deal according to the mirror.

Newcastle's offer: one season long loan, paying full wages (£75K/week) + permanent £17m deal, after the loan.
