Andy Carroll In Danger Yo !

Swapping Carroll for Dempsey would in my opinion be one of the daftest moves we've seen in some time. I don't care about the proposed added on fee either.

Rodgers, please, come on.

Oh and btw Dempsey is NOT a readymade pass and move footballer. He's a terrier more than anything and a yellow card always waiting to happen. Don't like him much at all.

Kris, there's no swap mooted. More like works out as Dempsey + Borini for Carroll.

That's worth a look.

FORMER Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler believes Andy Carroll will become a better player when he forgets about his £35million price tag and focuses on his personal strengths.

Towards the latter end of the season, and briefly at the European Championship, the 23-year-old began to show glimpses of the form which made him such a hit at Newcastle.

Despite that the England international is currently being linked with a move away from Anfield - either on loan or permanently - as it is perceived he does not fit the plans of new manager Brendan Rodgers.

Fowler believes the hefty price the Reds paid for Carroll, who became the most expensive British player on the back of Fernando Torres' £50m move to Chelsea in January 2011, has weighed heavy on the striker.

"Liverpool is a massive club. What Andy has to do is forget about the price tag and let other people worry about that," said Fowler.

"It is not as if he was saying 'Buy me for £35m'. The clubs agreed a fee but he has to forget about that.

"At times last year he tried to do a little bit too much and tried to be a £35million player and not do the simple things that got him the move in the first place ie: being a tough forward to make and getting his elbows into defenders in a good old-fashioned English centre-forward way.

"He has to continue what he was doing at the end of last season in being a headache for defenders as he looked a totally different player to the one at the start of the season.

"I know he only started one game (at Euro 2012) but I thought he was fantastic and caused the Sweden defence a lot of problems.

"It was a little bit reminiscent of what he was doing for Liverpool at the end of the season when I think he believed in himself a bit more."

Fowler will join his former club on their pre-season tour of the United States in an ambassadorial role along with Ian Rush. He will get to witness first-hand Rodgers' methods and approach but already the 37-year-old has been impressed by what he has heard from the Northern Irishman, who succeeded Kenny Dalglish last month.

"It is fantastic. He has bought into everything this club deserves and needs, the ethos, the Liverpool Way, the traditions - everything," he added.

"He has done his homework on the history and certainly the traditions of the club and as a fan I think it's really refreshing for someone to come in and say that.

"He's steeped in the traditions of the way he wants to play and he has set his stall out at other clubs where he has managed.

"What he did at Swansea was unbelievable. No disrespect to Swansea but the players here are better than the players at Swansea so if he can get us playing the way we want to be then it puts us in exciting times.

"So many people have said to me that Liverpool's season last season was classed as a failure. I never saw that.

"I know we finished eighth in the league, which was disappointing, and of course owners and chairman want to finish as high in the league as possible because it's a money thing, it's business.

"But I always want to look back on my career at how many trophies I've won, not that I finished fifth in the league and from that side of things it certainly wasn't a failure - we got to two cup finals and won one of them."

Liverpool striker Andy Carroll's possible loan move to West Ham United is likely to be almost entirely in the player's hands.

With former club Newcastle United keen to become involved in the chase and Aston Villa waiting on the sidelines, the Upton Park club is hoping that the player will make a quick decision on his return from the summer break.

They believe that in their skipper Kevin Nolan they may have an ace, as the pair are best friends off the pitch, whilst they both share the same agent.

The Hammers are ready to pay the England striker's £4million wages for the year and, should they survive the season as a Premiership club, will offer around £15million to make the deal permanent next season.

Carroll is also wanted on loan by clubs such as AC Milan but those close to him do not believe that a move abroad will necessarily suit a player who is very much a part of mainstream British life.

Villa boss Paul Lambert is poised to make a move for the big man after his interest in former Norwich city striker Grant Holt ended when the player signed a new deal at Carrow Road.

I should think so too.

I wouldn't be surprised if that's exactly what Rodgers wanted. He banged on about players needing to have the right attitude & wanting to play for us, maybe he was deciding whether Carroll fell into that.

I'll tell you what... I'm really looking forward to the LFC preseason tour... Can't wait now

David Craig - Sky Sports News reporter has just been on and said Carroll really wants to stay at LFC - is settled in the area, gets on well with everyone at the Club etc.

However he'd reluctantly be up for a loan move(to the right Club) but only to prove a point to Rodgers and force his way back into his plans.

I'm hoping carrolls grit and determination work his way into rodgers plans

I'm actually more warming to the idea of keeping him. We'll probably sign another attacking wide players / striker and with Suarez, Borini, Carroll and the new guy we'd have good options, as well as Sterling, Pacheco, Bellamy in the squad as well. This is all based on the idea that we'll be playing a 4-3-3 with wide strikers.

It's still heavily reliant on Suarez being the creator though. We might solve some problems infront of goal, but still lack that creative edge our rivals have over us. We could do with another real spark in the side.

I agree, I'd hope the other wide player we sign will be a creative type, Borini seems to be more of a finisher, although from the clips he does look like he can beat a man and deliver a good cross. I'm not sure who that player should be, but I hope Rodgers can find him, I really don't think it's Dempsey though.

It is yeah, but if we can get a good attackng midfielder and winger that'll lessen the burden on Suarez.

Add in Borini to that we'll be looking alot more threatening in the final third.
