Everybody thought that ! No-one envisaged us at the top at this stage (or any) of this season.I thought we'd be pushing for top 4 and that's about it. Still a long way to go obv

Wow really? He could never lose. The silent majority have spoken. This thread should be an annual tradition.
Not sure about football matters, but I thought no way Trump would win. This rocked my world, not in a good way.
COUGH COUGHEverybody thought that ! No-one envisaged us at the top at this stage (or any) of this season.
You've said quad for three seasons now...COUGH COUGH
I’m consistent. You've said quad for three seasons now...
So did I - but the assessment on Thompson is unfair - my understanding is that they both graduated together but Thompson was sold - I do wonder had we had kept him then Gerrard and him long-term would have done well together. It would have been healthy competition that would have maybe forced him to raise his game.I thought David Thompson was better then Gerrard.
May not have been in 2024 - but you don't get much wronger than that
Yeah, I had big hopes too. I STILL think there's a helluva player in there, but it is looking less and less likely that it will happen at Liverpool. It wouldn't surprise me if he goes to Spain or Italy and starts getting big numbers.Nunez for me. I loved what I saw when he was in Portugal ( and the potential he showed from some games his first season) and thought he could replicate it here given time. Sigh.
It's not a big number though. Indeed, of the numbers, it is surely the least."The first recorded zero appeared in Mesopotamia around 3 B.C. The Mayans invented it independently around 4 A.D. Brahmagupta developed the earliest known methods for using zero in calculations in the 7th century."
Zero is a number too.
Ditto, Kenny who.....?Mo for me as well. Going back a few years I didn't want Bellamy either and was very pleasantly surprised by how that move turned out.
But the real big one in my case was half a century ago when we replaced Keegan with the King, whom I'd never been that impressed with at Celtic or for Scotland. I spent the next decade celebrating how wrong I'd been. 😎
It's cos it doesn't look like he's trying very hard, as he glides past every RB in the league. You're right. It's weird.
With no end product? And he's 6'4 and kind of slow off the mark. What I want from a winger is someone fast and tricky and shit like Jeremy Doku.
Haha I do imagine sometimes how madly frustrated this forum would get at someone like Doku and wonder if its equivalent to NuñezAnd he's 6'4 and kind of slow off the mark. What I want from a winger is someone fast and tricky and shit like Jeremy Doku.
